How the name of King and Queen Udaku's first born child came to be.

Warnings: None. Simple, sweet, fluff.

Days off were a rarity and T'Challa marveled in being in your presence. "You look beautiful."

You huffed and rubbed your belly, "I feel fat."

Shaking his head, he got up from the edge of the bed and wrapped his arms around you. "You are carrying our daughter. You are such a sight, I wish you could see what I did."

He always knew how to make you smile, "Thank you baby.."

T'CHalla smiled and kissed your cheek. "Are you ready to go?"

"Yeah, I guess." Taking one last look at your stomach, you threw the crossbody bag over your shoulder and smoothed out your dress.

Guards flanked out in front and behind you two as you took your typical route through the market. You could feel your husband's staring at you, "What?"

Smiling, he shook his head. "You are so adorable." He was referring to the waddling you were doing and you just shook your head and laughed. "Thanks.

Shopping at the market was therapeutic and with all the lovely people who frequented and worked there, it was hard to leave. The conversations were always so lovely.

"Oh, look Challa." You pointed to a necklace and dangled it in front of him.

"It is beautiful." He observed it and bought it for you without hesitation.

After clasping it around your neck, he thanked the seller and intertwined his hand in yours. "Isn't it funny how suddenly every shop is now selling baby items?' T'Challa joked.

It was true. After the announcement of your pregnancy, merchants made sure to promote their new maternity and infant items knowing you and T'Challa liked to shop around.

"I guess my pregnancy is good for business."

"I guess so."

"Speaking of pregnancy, you suck."

He looked confused, "What? Why?"

"We still haven't picked out any names. You haven't been any help."

"Eh, I gave you name options and you said no."

"Rufaro is not going to fly."

"It means happiness, entle."

"I know what it means but my baby won't be named that."

He huffed and paused, "Bast, they finally have more sandals in stock." He pulled you along. "Challa,"

"I am getting those sandals, damn it."

His obsession with the fashion eyesore still amazed you but you patiently waited beside him as he talked the seller's head off. "And they are so comfortable-"

The man nodded eagerly, "Yes we have a special hydro mattress air foam sole."

T'Challa's eyes lit up, "Ah,"

You looked around and smiled, the people here were so happy. You were seriously blessed to now call this place home. The atmosphere was friendly and carefree, the music was calm and the smell of the food was making your mouth water.

"I will take three pairs." T'Challa stated.

You snickered, "Oh god."

Malaika, nakupenda Malaika

Malaika, nakupenda Malaika

Ningekuoa mali we, ningekuoa dada

The soft music playing from literally nowhere caught your attention. Your ears perked up in your attempt to strain the chatter and focus on the song.

Nashindwa na mali sina we

Ningekuoa Malaika

Looking around, you tried to find the source but there was so much going on.

"Where is that coming from?" You mumbled. Taking your hand off of Challa's arm you let your ears guide your feet.

"Ikumkani wam!" Ayo and a few more Doras followed behind you and watched closely. "Do you hear that Ayo?"

"That song? It's beautiful."

Nashindwa na mali sina we

Ningekuoa Malaika

Standing in the middle of the market with your hands cupping your stomach and spectators wondering what you were doing, you stood on your tiptoes.

You finally identified the song coming from the mango stand, "There!"

Ayo groaned as you sped walk off, "My Queen, you can't just run off like-"

She paused and took in your face.

There was a big smile and tears rolling down your cheeks.

Finally finding the source of the music, you laughed, "She likes it."

The baby was kicking eagerly.

T'Challa was on high alert after noticing your absence beside him. "Where are they?" He asked Okoye.

Underneath the stand, you swayed, "What is this song, ma'am?"

"Malaika." She smiled.

"Malaika. It's beautiful."

Back at the palace, you twirled around the room while the music played.

Pesa zasumbua roho yangu

Pesa zasumbua roho yangu

Nami nifanyeje, kijana mwenzio

Leaning on the bathroom door, T'Challa was in awe of you. "She likes it."

"Who?" He walked towards you and got pulled into your dancing.

"The baby, she likes this song. See." You grabbed his hands and placed them on your stomach.

Seeing his eyes light up made you smile, "This is it. This is supposed to be her name."

A small gleam in his eyes told you he believed it too. "Malaika?"

Nodding you placed his hand on your waist and kept the other one in yours and led the dance.

"Malaika."
