-Monday at school-
April: *walking up to Venus* Hey. Venus.
Venus: *closing her locker* Yeah?
April: So I was wondering if we could hang out. Like you, me, Mark and Jacob. I mean, since we're going to be spending a lot of time together on the- on the trip, I thought it'd be a good idea to get to know each other.
Venus:...Have you asked the other guys?
April: No...not yet. But I will. And I would've texted you this over the weekend but I don't have your number. Or the other guys' number either.
Venus: *holds out her hand* Give me your phone.
*Venus gives April her number and April goes to find Mark and Jacob*
April: *Finds Jacob downstairs in the cafeteria sitting alone*
Jacob: *on his phone*
April: *Sits next to him* Hey.
Jacob: Hi? What do you want?
April: I want us all to get to know either other.
Jacob: We didn't know each other before why should we start now?
April: Because now, we're going on that "trip" and we might be there for who knows how long and who in the world would want to spend months with some random people they just met.
Jacob: Listen. I'm not a friendly person, I don't have friends and I don't want friends. So you can go on with your giddy little attitude.
April: Oh come on. You seriously don't even want to get to know us even a little bit?
Jacob: Not in the slightest. I like being alone.
April: So do I sometimes but having friends can make your life better. There are studies that show that having friends can boost your happiness and reduce stress.
Jacob: Yeah I don't care. Find someone else to befriend. *gets back on his phone*
April: 'He's a little piece of shit. But deep down he must be extremely lonely and I bet I can change that.' Fine.
-Bell rings-
-After class-
Mark: *walking down the hallway to his next class listening to music*
April: *speed walking to him* Hey, Mark! Mark!
Random student: *taps mark*
Mark: *takes out his earbuds* What?
April: Mark! *catches up to him* Hey.
Mark: Hi?
April: Ok so, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out with me and Venus. Jacob said he doesn't want any friends which is kinda dumb but I have Venus' number already so I just need yours so we can plan it if we're going to hang out.
Mark: ....You talk really fast.
April: Yeah, I tend to do that especially when I feel like I'm in a rush or scared or just nervous in general and I tend to talk a lot when I do and sometimes I stutter because my mouth moves faster than my brain aannnnddd I'm doing it right now. Sorry.
