This wasn't supposed to happen, he was only trying to to get the emergency beacon, and find a way home was that too much to ask. Alex said fearfully in his head  he heard multiple clicks and growls coming from all directions he quickly turned trying to pinpoint the location when all of the noises when all of sudden he felt two orbs behind him he turned and saw the thing that has been chasing him this entire time...

2 days earlier......

year 2210

Captain of the Europa Weyland corporation

Thank you all for coming, here marks the 1000 voyage of the Europa, for her last voyage, she will voyage farther than the outer arms of the milky way galaxy as her final flight. She will return and then placed in the in Natural history museum for future generations to witness. As for my crewmates it will be over 5,100, I couldn't have asked for a better crew, I am flying with the greatest crew of humanity.

Alex moon heard his Captain's small speech all the way to the engine room he sighed as he heard his captain continuing his speech usually he tunes them out, he went back to work fixing a leak on one of the many engines this ship when he was about to finish, he heard someone knocking near him, he faces the direction and it was his boss " Alex we are about to launch, find your seat", he nodded " Sure thing, lemme just fix this leak" he welded it shut quickly and went to follow her at the work station. he worked as an engineer on the ship, if there was a problem with the components of the ship it would fall to him or the other hundreds of engineers to fix it. Right now, every worker on the ship sat at their designated areas the captain sat at the bridge, engineers sat at the lower decks, medics sat at their offices, chefs, soldiers, etc sat at the middle decks. Everyone buckled in their seats and heard a voice in the speakers

In an instant he felt himself being pushed down with a heavy force he felt the blood rushing to his head, he always hates this part it since it makes him woozy for a bit. Finally, the ship starts to slow down a bit and everyone feels that momentarily weightless 

Now engaging artificial gravity

He felt the gravity pushing him down the feeling of weightlessness is gone, everyone unbuckled from their seat while done his boss called his group of engineers " Ok everyone our job is to make sure that this ship goes through smooth flying Group 1 through 5 will work on the lower decks of the engines making sure they are in tip top shape while 6 through 10 will work on the life boats on the starboard side Alex I'm having you work on the stern side of the lifeboats since there is a short amount of people, you can do it yourself", Alex cursed himself quietly he hates it when he has to do the job by himself, he only nodded to her." And after your done I want you see me I have more jobs for everyone to do". Alex nodded at her he grabbed his tools and started to make his way to the stern side. His boss was always like that when they aren't working she is a whole other person but when they are in the hallway he can see that the ship already passed the solar system and is now in Perseus' arm system after admiring the stars he went to the lifeboats to do manual systems check on each lifeboat this lasted for about an hour when all of the sudden Alex felt as if the ship hit something big he heard in the intercom
