Summary:
Old hybrids are slowly disappearing. Centaurs, mermaids and fairies are barely seen at court anymore, and the dragon hybrids have been gone for centuries.
Jimin knows he's the last unicorn hybrid and he can't bear the thought of falling into oblivion, so he's made it his life's mission to write a book remembering all of these hybrids.
However, he needs more information. And Jungkook, who lives as a recluse in his manor, far away from the capital, seems to have all the answers.

Jimin winced when the carriage fell into another pothole.
This gray and dusty place wasn't a well-known town. There were no sights to see or sanctuaries to visit. It was merely a place to stay the night while traveling from the capital to the southern coast.
It was, however, quite large. They had entered the city about half an hour ago but everywhere, it was only stone houses, people walking quickly and of course, streets full of potholes.
The carriage jumped again.
"Ah! I can't believe the council hasn't fixed these roads yet," the coachman groaned next to him, steering the horses.
Jimin didn't reply. The man had tried to talk to him throughout the whole journey, a four-hour drive from the capital, and clearly wasn't deterred by the silence.
"You know, I drive every single day and you'd think that the council would have heard my complaints, but no, it's always full of holes! It's the wolves, of course, there's so many of them now, and all they care about is having more money and more houses. I'm a cat hybrid, why should I care about expanding the city? They can't even take care of what they already have!"
The coachman threw a side glance towards Jimin and continued, "Are there so many wolf hybrids in the capital as well? You seem too well-born to mix with their kind."
Jimin had years, centuries really, of experience navigating through the capital's aristocracy. He could be patient and yet, he had to force himself not to roll his eyes. People nowadays tended to be much more open about what kind of hybrids they were when it was really a matter of privacy.
Again, he stayed silent.
The coachman wasn't completely wrong, though. Jimin had asked him to ride outside, when he had seen the three wolf hybrids entering the carriage, so easily recognizable with their heavy scents.
It wasn't that Jimin hated wolves. When he thought about what they used to be, skilled hunters capable of great magic, it just reminded him of how much the world had changed.
Truly, he just mistrusted everyone.
It was one of the many facets of being a unicorn hybrid. Everyone admired him and his beauty, but very few could truly get close to him.
At least, the coachman didn't seem too bothered.
"You don't have to tell me, of course. We cat hybrids tend to stay on our own as well. It's pretty weird that I don't feel annoyed by you, actually..."
At that, Jimin let out a small smile. His beauty did have that effect on everyone, ranging from admiring glances to declarations of love from complete strangers. Truly, the coachman wasn't the worst he'd seen.
Still, when they turned a corner and he saw the sign of the tavern he was to stay in, he let out a sigh of relief. The green façade was probably the only touch of color he had seen in this gray place, and Jimin almost jumped on the sidewalk when the carriage stopped.
