She met him at the bar. The glass of bourbon that was there had not been touched. He turned to her. ‘He is mine. I know it so please don’t lie to me.’  He said and she wasn’t even aware that he had heard her enter.                                                                                                                                            ‘I’m sorry.’ She said. She couldn’t bear the coldness of his tone.                                                                                                                                                                                                                            He pulled her into his arms. ‘I am hopelessly in love with you. I should have seen through your lies, but I forgive you. I really do.’                                                                                                                                                                                                          ‘I’m sorry.’ She cried ‘I – I –’                                                                                                                                                                                   ‘shh. Don’t say another word and stop crying.’                                                                                                               ‘I can’t seem to stop. When you didn’t call I was terrified. I – I –’                                                                                                                     ‘I couldn’t get to the phone Cara. Chelsea’s nightmare almost came to pass.’ Paris gasped her huge green eyes wider now with shock as she looked into his eyes. ‘Only I was not the one who ended up in the ditch. The other guy did, I sustained some injury but now I know why I was preserved, to care for you. To love you, to show you lo –’                                                                                                                                                                      ‘I love you Luis.’ She cried so hard now. Thank You. I – I could have lost him. I am just thankful. Thank You for keeping him safe for me. Thank You.                                                                                                                                                                          After some time he said. ‘Would you still marry me?’ she turned to look at him. She nodded. He took the ring out of her hand and slipped it on her ring finger on her left. ‘Don’t worry, he approved.’ He said when she hesitated again. She hugged him tighter. She then asked, ‘does he know –’                                                                                                                                                   ‘if he did, he didn’t let on.

Vanessa still couldn’t understand why her daughter’s friends had dropped something in her mail box. They did know that Paris didn’t live there anymore. She went into the house to join her friend Yvonne. Yvonne was busy making pancakes for their breakfast.                                     ‘Vann is the mail –’                                                                                                                                                                  ‘it is on the table. We’ll look at it later.’ She hollered to her best friend.                                                                                                                                                                                 Yvonne was reading the paper as she drank her black coffee. ‘Vann that reporter’s still writing about your –’                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     ‘it must really be a news slow month.’                                                                                                                                                                                  ‘Seems Luis has moved on. He’s seen here with a beautiful buxom woman.’                                                                                                                ‘He doesn’t do buxom.’ She said absent minded.                                                                                                                                                                                                       ‘This one looks buxom to me.’                                                                                                                                                                               ‘Forget that paper. Let’s go shopping.’                                                                                                                                                                                  They had come back tired and had decided to retire for the night. The following day they tuned in to E! and were shocked by the wedding that was being shown live from a chapel in Paris. ‘that is certainly his wedding.’                                                                                                                                                                                              ‘There can’t be a wedding without the bride. I am the bride.’ Vanessa said with pride and assurance. ‘Look at that wedding gown. Wow.’                                                                                                                                                                 ‘Eve –’                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             ‘that looks a lot like Paris.’                                                                                                                                                                                       ‘It can’t be. She doesn’t know him.’                                                                                                                                                                             ‘She wouldn’t be walking down the aisle to him if she didn’t know him.’ Just then the lower banner of the screen displayed THE WEDDING OF LUIS CARRERA AND PARIS MIRANDA JULIET MILLER AT PARIS.                                                                                                                                                         ‘That was beautiful.’ Yvonne said as they kissed. ‘Don’t you agree Vann?’                                                                                                                 Vanessa was having trouble breathing. She couldn’t believe what her eyes told her were the truth. Yvonne came closer to her then. ‘Did you look at the mail?’                                                                                                                        ‘No. Could you get them for me?’
