The Unknown Disaster: A Pokemon Adventure <CONTINUED BY TORCHICKITTEN>

Chapter Two: Something New

They looked around, wondering where they should go. They investigated the small town, and found a building with a sign reading " Pokemon Professor Oak's Lab". They all got an uneasy feeling as they pushed open the door, and inside it was dark and empty of people and Pokemon. They then noticed a little red and white ball on a table in the back of the room. Hydro was the first to jump onto the table, with enthusiasm and adventure in his eyes.

"I have no idea what it is, but I like it." Hydro explains.

" Wait... there is a button in the middle." Says Ivy.

Without hesitation Hydro presses the button on the odd sphere on the table and an explosion of red energy escapes from inside of it. The energy forms the shape of a Pokemon, then breaks like a thin glass and disappears into the air, revealing a perfectly healthy squirtle.

"Who are you? Why are you here?" The squirtle asks while getting on all fours, and with hostility in her voice.

Flare immediately steps in and makes sure the squirtle doesn't get the wrong idea.

"We don't want any trouble. We're not from around here... we're only seeking answers."

"What kind of answers?" The squirtle asks, replacing her hostility with an intense seriousness.

There was a pause, and they were all still as statues. Then, Flare started his story.

"We're from the woods surrounding Cerulean city. This morning, an unknown Pokemon invaded our village... our home... and started attacking. I was sure that it was at a very high level, and was probably a psychic type. Our king sent us to see what it is and why it was even there."

Ivy then burst into the conversation. "If you know anything, anything at all that might help, please tell us."

The female squirtle then gave an look of empathy.

"I'm sorry, I don't know anything about this, but I swear if I did I would tell you."

"Then do you know where we should look?" Asked Ivy

"Hmm... I would suggest Lavender town, maybe the ghost Pokemon there know something, but be careful, it's freaky there."

The squirtle turned around and was about to press the button when she hesitated."Oh. Avoid the trainers, they can ruin your whole adventure..." She paused, and snapped her little squirtle fingers."...Just like that." Then, she pressed the button, and turned back into energy to re-enter the little ball on the table.

As she said that, they all got a shiver down their spines. Then, a thought came to mind. What could a measly human possibly do to a Pokemon? That squirtle seemed pretty wise, and they all decided to follow the piece of info that she gave them, even though it sounded ridiculous to them. They followed a random route hoping that it would be the quickest route to Lavender Town.

As they walked, they saw many trainers, and after a few tried to catch them in little balls, they remembered what the squirtle in Oak's lab told them, and walked through the tall grass to decrease the chance of a trainer spotting them.

All of a sudden, a rattata jumped in front of them, and used tackle on Flare.

"ACK!!!!!!" Cried Flare, hitting the dirt.

Surprised, Ivy and Hydro stood back. Then, Ivy scolded the rattata, who was glaring at Flare with rage.

"What's wrong with you?! Do you just randomly tackle Pokemon that roam the woods?! Why?! You could have seriously hurt my friend!"

The rattata heard Ivy, but instead of listening, it just attacked her instead. Right before the tackle hit Ivy, Flare used his ember attack, and knocked out the rattata.

"What was that about?" Asked Hydro.

"It looked a lot like what was happening to the mystery Pokemon back home." Exclaimed Ivy.

They all took a moment of thought. The rattata that attacked them was acting just like the unknown Pokemon back at their home. What if there were more Pokemon going out of control? Or, what if the effect was spreading?
