(There's a black screen, some writing appears '1951 Manchester, England')
"Fifty-one! Good God I'll be old" Joan laughed still unconvinced.
(Alan sits in a dull room looking off colour. A man enters. He sits across from him the scene goes black we only hear Alan's voice)
ALAN(voice-over): Are you paying attention?
(We see a room with papers everywhere and things messily strewn about)
Alan(V.O): Good. If you're not listening carefully, you will miss things, important things. I will not pause. I will not repeat myself, and you will not interrupt me. You think that because you are sitting where you are and I am sitting where I am that you are in control of what is about to happen. You're mistaken. I am in control. Because I know things that you do not know.
"Alan being as charming as ever" John smirked.
Alan felt weird hearing himself talk so ignored this comment.
(Someone picks up a phone from the floor and calls a number)
Operator: Manchester Police Department, please hold.
(The writing states 'Secret intelligence service (MI6) Headquarters' someone is listeningto the phone call)
CONSTABLE (through radio):
Looks like a break in. Residence of Turing, Alan Windows broken.
Home's been ransacked.
Send a detective down, will you?"Oh no Alan how annoying" Joan tutted.
Alan just made his agreeable noises that sound like a shrug.
Alan: (voice-over): What I will need from you now is a commitment. You will listen closely, and you will not judge me until I am finished. If you cannot commit to this, then please leave the room.
MAN 2: Come in.
(A woman delivers a message to Menzies)
Alan(V.O): But if you choose to stay, remember you chose to be here. What happens from this moment forwards is not my responsibility. It's yours. Pay attention.
(Menzies looks at the message that states 'Alan Turing has been robbed. Manchester Police investigation pending' he let's it fall looking inquisitive)
"Could it be something to do with Enigma?" Peter asked.
"Well obviously otherwise Menzies wouldn't care" Alan stated.
(Two policeman meet in Alan's house)
DETECTIVE: What's all this, then?SERGEANT: Turing, Alan.
Professor at King's. Seems there's been a burglary.DETECTIVE: Oh? What of?
SERGEANT: Well, that's just it. Nothing missing, really.
Everyone frowned at that 'why would someone rob a house but take nothing'.
DETECTIVE: What's he doing in Manchester?
SERGEANT: Something with machines. The project at the NPL. I checked, but he won't say what it's on.
DETECTIVE: Professor Turing? Detective Nock, Manchester Police.
(Alan is kneeling on the floor and doesn't answer)
DETECTIVE: Sergeant Staehl here tells me you had a burglary last night. Professor Turing?
