They were all in the pub. Joan had just said hello to Hugh and the others. Suddenly a flash of white and they were all in a theatre.
Hugh woke first with a splitting headache "Ah what the bally hell happened"
They all were awake now and Alan realised they were in a theatre, of course he hadn't drunk much at all so he had no idea when they'd gotten here without a memory of how.
A woman appeared "Hello everyone" she was positively beaming at being able to meet all these legendary people "I've brought you here to see your futures"
"Are you bloody insane" Peter spoke incredulously.
"That's absolutely impossible you're mad" Hugh scoffed.
"I know it sounds mad but here me out. This will be about you working on Enigma and the eventual end of the war" she spoke.
"I want to give you some hope for the future" she continued "plus I really really wanted to meet you all" she finished with a sheepish smile.
"Why us?" Joan asked.
"Well you're all historical icons and majorly helped in the war why not? Also the world war is my favourite history subject to learn about especially the 2nd"
"They're already teaching the war whilst it's happening god I feel old" Hugh says
She pulled a face that was completely undiscernible "not quite I'm from the year 2022 and in 2014 a film was made about your efforts in the war so yeah basically I'm showing you that"
"Bloody hell let's get on with it then" Hugh sighs, sitting down
"You actually believe her?!?" John asks
"No but if it gets her to be quiet then I'll go along with it. Might as well see what in the name of God she's talking about" Hugh replied.
They all sat down ready to watch.
She spoke once more "Brilliant I hope you enjoy and it really is a pleasure to meet you all"
