"Oh. My. God." Rebecca's parents never fought about anything. "So did Chase confront your mom?" I hate to remember this, this one night that ruined my family forever. "She slapped him, my dad had already taken off, he was drunk and furious." I had to stop to keep myself from crying. "That's when he drove off the bridge."
"Josh, I'm SO sorry." She hugged me and started stroking my hair again. "If I knew it made you this upset I wouldn't have asked." She held me close. "It's okay, It was better that I told someone." She kissed me and then the bus stopped. "Bye Josh, I will see you tomorrow."
"Hey mom." I dropped my stuff on the table. "Hi sweetheart! How was your day" I grabbed an apple. "Same-old." "Don't talk with your mouth full honey. Where is Rebecca?" I took another bite. "She's got fencing classes today." She nodded, "Oh yes, that girl does do everything doesn't she!" I flopped on the couch and turned the TV on.
After watching some old Drake and Josh re-runs, Drew called. "Hey man, you gotta see this!" "See what exactly?" "Just hurry and get over here!" He hung up. I left a note for my mom because she was nowhere to be found and rode my bike down to Drew's house.
Drew's house isn't that far so I usually can get their pretty quick. But today, I decide to go the long way. I don't know why I did and I wish I hadn't. it was darker than usual, which didn't bother me, until I realized I was being followed.
