When we arrived at her office she immediately got into a speech about how I should stand up to my brother and his friends. I just tuned her out, humming Space Bound to myself.
"Em-hem." She had asked me something. "Can you, uh, repeat that?" "I was suggesting a mediator conference with you and your brother." Mediator conference, sounds stupid. "Sure, whatever." She smiled, "That's great I will schedule one for Thursday." I got up, "I can leave now?" She smiled her fake smile. "Yes, have a good day."
The rest of the day was boring, I didn't do anything but sit through countless lectures. I was glad that the day was finial over. "Why did Blue want you Josh?" I hadn't seen Rebecca all day, we only had that first period together. "She was just saying some stupid crap about Chase and his friends," I closed my book "She's making us stay after on Thursday." She stroked my hair, a strange habit of hers. "That sucks." "Yeah."
Drew took some computer programming class after school, so me and Rebecca were riding the bus alone. "Josh, what happened between you and your brother?" "High school." I stated plainly. She wasn't amused, "Really Josh, I can't help you if you shut me out." "Fine."
