A Complicated Romance (Miraculous Marichat x Adrienette)

Chapter 3

Adrien Agreste at almost 20 years old had been officially dating Marinette Dupain Cheng for 6 months now but he had not yet told his father. Adrien wanted to make sure that he and Marinette were serious about each other before he told him and he wanted to do it at a moment when his father had a lot of time for him so that he could also bring along Marinette.

Gabriel was finally going to sit down for dinner with his son this Friday night and Adrien had requested to bring a "friend" along. His father was of course dismissive per usual. "Adrien, the one chance we get to spend a bit of family time together and you choose to invite a friend along. Absolutely not!" Gabriel spat. The feelings of disrespect were obvious within his tone.

"Oh but father, its really important to me that this friend can come along, please I promise she won't be a bother she's a real delight!" Adrien begged giving his father the kitten eyes. Gabriel slightly perked up after the word "she's".
"A girl? Now why would a girl be so important to interrupt our family time together Adrien?" His father questioned coldly. Adrien sighed. "Father please just allow me to introduce you it's all I've ever asked of you!" He pleaded. Adrien was desperate, he was desperate for his father to allow him to invite Marinette. Marinette his doting girlfriend of 6 months, Marinette the girl he had been pining for since High school and she who had been pining for him since they'd properly met after a bad first impression.

Gabriel Agreste sighed heavily.
"Oh alright then Adrien, you may bring along your little friend but I expect there to be no problems!" He firmly stated as he brushed off his shirt. Adrien's face lit up, "Oh thank you Father! You won't regret this we'll bring you no trouble!" Adrien beamed. Gabriel didn't say anything more and just removed himself back into his office.

Adrien ran up to his room triumphantly. Once he was there he grabbed his phone from the charger and immediately dialled Marinette's number. "Hey!" She chirped happily on the other end.
"Hey Princess, I've got a date planned for Friday" He said. Marinette failed to mask the squeal that had just escaped her lips and as a result her lips then quivered in embarrassment.
"O-oh t-that sounds lovely Adrien! What are we going to be d-doing?" She asked somewhat stuttering from her newfound pink flush. "Having dinner with my father!" Adrien announced proudly.

Marinette was a little taken aback. No correction she was very taken aback. "Your father?" She questioned clearly surprised.
"Yep Gabriel Agreste." He replied. Marinette began to freak out. "I-I have got to find a new outfit!" Marinette yelled down the line as she began to scramble through her clothes. Adrien felt a pain ringing in his ear.
"Ouchh Princess would you mind not doing that right next to the phone?" Adrien chuckled as he momentarily moved the phone slightly away from his ear.
"Oh s-sorry love it's just that I'm freaking out I mean what do I wear!" She expressed the anxiety present within her tone.

Adrien smiled, "Marinette my love you could literally be wearing a clown suit and you'd still be as beautiful as ever in my eyes." Marinette's face flushed red at his words. But the clown suit part made her chuckle. "Seriously love this isn't a joke this is about your father after all." Marinette said removing the smirk as it creased on her face. Adrien had a serious look on his face which she of course couldn't see as they weren't on FaceTime. "I wasn't joking Marinette I promise you, you'd look absolutely stunning in anything.You're incredibly beautiful and also not to mention you're the kindest and most talented girl that I know, and my father? He'll have to love you." He persuaded.

Adrien couldn't have his girlfriend doubting herself. After all to him she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. Not to mention she was also going to be entering into an art and design school where she'd be learning everything there is to know about fashion, advertisement and business. Adrien had no doubt within his heart, he knew that Marinette could get it all. He could see it now her flawlessly walking the red carpet with herself and models wearing her stunning designs and he, Adrien would be cheering her on no matter whether it was from the crowd or from back stage.
