A Complicated Romance (Miraculous Marichat x Adrienette)

Chapter 5

In that moment all Adrien cared about was being out of Lila's toxic grasp.

Adrien dashed away from the Eiffel Tower and headed off towards Tom and Sabines Bakery.

After his unfortunate encounter with Lila, Adrien desperately needed Marinette. He had yearned to wrap his arms around her for far too long and he HAD to see her now and HAD to cuddle with her now. His sanity was depending on it!

The bells above the door chimed as Adrien practically threw himself in and he stood there panting as he rested his shaking hands on his knees.
The sweat was sliding down his face. He had run there after all and so of course he was now out of breathe.

Marinette who had just been helping out her mama'n with the till immediately spotted Adrien. She could see that he was tired and out of breathe. "Adrien?" She called as she abandoned her duties as she frantically stared at her panting boyfriend.
Marinette apologised furiously to the confused looking customer who was awaiting his order of doughnuts.

But right now the customers weren't Marinette's top priority. Adrien was her top priority, he was her love, her light, her everything. She would drop anything when it would come to him, her charming prince.

Marinette was now stood at her love's side. Concern was written all over her beautiful face. "My love, Adrien what happened?" She gasped as she rose her hand to gently touch his shoulder. She could feel how tensed he was as she did so.

Adrien felt the tears well in his eyes. He knew that it wasn't his fault that Lila had almost kissed him but even so he felt as though he had done something wrong.

Lila had made him feel dirty and he hated it. He didn't want to be vulnerable in front of his girl. He was supposed to remain strong right? This wasn't being strong. This was him overreacting and being a baby. After all Lila hadn't kissed him. Sure she was clinging all over him. Sure she pressed her face way to close to his. Sure those things had made his chest tighten and yes they did make him feel extremely suffocated.

"My love, talk to me? Please." Marinette begged as she slid her hand down his shoulder and gave his shaking one a gentle squeeze. Her big bluebell eyes were a storm of emotion. He could feel the strong worry radiating from his princess.

He couldn't tell her. He couldn't ruin her day more than he already had by telling her that Lila was back. Not only that she was back but was in fact made to work with him for a photoshoot.

Adrien knew how Marinette felt about Lila and she was right to feel that way about her. Lila wasn't a good person and not even a small bit of kindness could be found within her.

Marinette's soft expression was piercing Adrien's heart. He couldn't talk about Lila it would only make her worry further.
But he also didn't want to lie to her. He just couldn't lie to those gorgeous eyes. Her eyes would always win him over, he was mesmerised by their beauty and of the beauty bestowed in the girl of which they belonged to.

"The photoshoot didn't end up happening." Adrien stated, his eyes refusing to meet hers. She tried to peer at him but he wouldn't look up, fearing the pain which would soon show.

Marinette sighed. "Adrien what really happened?" Adrien shot a look of panic which was calmed by a warm hand softly rubbing against his back. Her hand.

"You can talk to me you know, you can tell me anything. Please my prince don't feel embarrassed to tell me things I would never judge you." Marinette whispered her soft voice reaching him and making his delicate heart soar with love.

Adrien sighed as he finally allowed their eyes to meet. He saw the love in her eyes. Her love for him. It was a compelling type of love. The love that makes you want to be honest, want to be better and more than anything it makes you wish to do anything in your power to keep it.To never ever allow anything to take it away.
