(Laila's POV)
"Mommy why are you crying? My 5 year old daughter asks me, I didn't realize I was crying.
"No reason baby, go pack your bag we're going to go stay with nana for a little while" I tell Jazzy as I continue to pack my bag. He gets off at 8pm and it's 3pm right now so I have 5 hours to get us out of this hell hole and out of this state. I don't even pay attention to what I pack as long as I have something to wear.
Once I have all my things ready I go to Jasmine's room to make sure she's all ready to go.
"Princess are you ready?" I ask her as I knock on the door.
" Just a second, '' she says as I walk into her room, seeing her try to stuff all of the stuffies she can fit in her bag. I stifle a laugh while watching her. "I don't think they all can fit, you aren't going to be able to bring them all but grab your 3 favorites for now" I tell her while grabbing her bags.
"All ready? Are you bucked up?" I ask her as I slide into the driver's seat and look in my rear view mirror.
"Yes all ready! I can't wait to see nana, it's been foreverrrrr" she says dramatically.
As I began to pull on to the road I looked back at the house and for a second I questioned what I was doing. Is this even a good idea? Then I see my baby already dozing off and I know that what I am doing is the right thing.
*Flashback*
"You bitch! He yells as he throws a plate into the sink breaking it in the process. "I give you everything, i dont even make you work and all I expect is the fucking dishes to be done and some damn food on the table"
"I'm sorry" I say, shaking, I always hate when he gets like this. I've put up with it for the sake of my lovely daughter I had with this monster.
"You're sorry? Awe isn't that just so sweet. Maybe next time instead of texting other dudes you could actually be my wife" He now yells in my face. He always believed in texting other guys or talking to them when in reality I've found lipstick stains on the collars of his shirts and I even found another girl's panties in his suit pocket.
The night I asked him was the first of many nights he put his hands on me. Once he did that I knew I had to get away from him , get our daughter away from him. Worried for what he might do if she set him off accidentally.
Suddenly I find myself falling to the ground and being brought out of my thoughts. "Now look what you made me do, hit you again. You know I don't like hitting you but sometimes you just don't leave me any other choice. Get up and finish dinner before Jasmine sees what a pathetic mother she has!" Little did we know she saw what happened. When I got up and turned around to walk to the stove I saw her little doll she took everywhere. She saw everything while peering around the corner and the next thing I heard broke my heart. She was crying and asking God why her daddy was being mean to her mom. Why was he hurting her?
*Flashback over*
Now the next thing to do is call my mom and hope she will let us stay.
*My first book so let me how it is! Feedback is always welcome😊*
