(Deans POV)
I woke up at 5am to my alarm. Blaring. I normally go for a run in the mornings before everyone is up and moving. I throw on some black sweatpants and running shoes before leaving the house.
After a little bit I see a female jogging towards me. She looks like she's in thought and then suddenly stops in the middle of the way and stares at me. You would think I'd be used to this but it frustrates me every time.
"Do you mind? Take a picture it might last longer" I say, snapping at her. I admit that might have been a little harsh. I can see even in the dim lighting that my words had a negative effect. Almost like she was remembering something. She just decided to ignore me which was a little bit of a surprise but oh well.
"Of course typical" I said while shaking my head. I just decided to cross the road and keep going. I look for traffic and run across the road. As I leave all I can think about are her eyes. They remind me of emeralds. II don't know why I'm thinking about her. She's just going to be like every other girl.
After I finish my jog I head back to my house. I hop in the shower hoping to get that girl's eyes out of my head. I wash my hair and in the middle of washing the conditioner out my phone starts ringing and I know it can only be one person at this time in the morning. I let the phone go to voicemail while I am finishing in the shower once I get out I wrap a towel around my waist and call the person back.
"You do know what time it is right?" I ask the person on the phone and all I get is her mocking me back. I laugh at her because she sounds insane.
"Hello my lovely sister who has decided to grace me with her voice" I say while putting her on speaker and continuing to get ready. "Hi brother I figured I'd call you and remind you to make time for your sweet sister. Don't forget that you promised to attend this year's Christmas event. She says reminding me of the promise that was influenced by alcohol. I look at the date and realize I have only a few more months before the event. "I will be there but don't ask me for anything eles" I say only halfway teasing. She knows that if she really needs me I'll drop everything and go to her and she would do the same. She's a fashion designer and lives in New York.
We talk for a little while longer just catching up on things since the last time we talked. AfterI got off the phone with her I went downstairs to the kitchen where my cook Gina had repaired some breakfast for me. She always makes the best food no matter what it is. After breakfast I get in my black BMW Z4 and head to the office to start my work before everyone else gets there. I like to get in early and I try to leave early also.
I am about 3 hours into my work when I hear a knock on the door and in comes Ashton. "Hey man, when did you get here?" He asks while taking a seat across from me. "I got here like 3 hours ago, why?" I ask, seeing that something happened and I haven't been told.
"Oh nothing just... we need to go check on one of our branches because their performance stats aren't where they should be. He says while focusing on some random spot behind me. "Okay well then let's go and get this dealt with. It's 10 in the morning and I want to be out of the office by 2" I say while standing up along with Ashton.
We get in my car and drive a few hours till we get to Portland. When we walk into the building a silence comes over everyone but you could see a few people looking at us and whispering. " Dont you idiots have somewhere to be right now?" My voice booms over the room and I watch a few people jump at the sudden loudness. I see the person behind the desk run up to us and ask what we need. I'm pissed so Ashton takes over and speaks to them because he can be much calmer in these situations.
I start to ignore the conversation when those emerald eyes pop up in my mind again. What is with those eyes? Why do they keep appearing in my mind? I've never had this issue before and I've seen many women with green eyes but it's just something about hers specifically.
"Earth to Dean, hello?" I see Ashton's hand waving in my face and I realize that it's just us two standing here now. " Yea?" I say clearing her eyes from my thoughts. "The documents on the people who are causing the issues are being sent to us so we can go one" He tells me and I follow him back out to my car and we head back to our building.
Looking at all the things that were sent over I wont be getting out of here anytime soon. At least I have those emerald eyes to keep me company. Maybe I'll see her tomorrow on my jog.
