Chapter 4

39 2 0

🎶 Nobody knows
Just why we're here
Could it be fate
Or random circumstance
At the right place
At the right time
Two roads intertwine 🎶

( song: You'll be safe here)

A huge 38 meter tall stage was built in a huge open land, LED lights that can recreate dozens of color combination illuminating the stage with just a push of a button. Spotlights and moving lights were on placed to highlight and create an impact on the performances that will about to take place. Giant speakers were placed on four corners to make the music highly audible.

Even before the concert started, there are people everywhere. The parking lot was filled with voices of people laughing and shouting, one group of rowdy fans was smashing beer bottles against the concrete from a distance, a group of young women dress in plaid skirt and crop t shirt were hanging around squeeling in excitement as they talked about their favorite artist. Tourists from different parts of the world blending with the local in anticipation, while others are just plain curious with the festival. The large open area started to become small as the crowd surged forward and back in one relentless wave.

The cool mountain breeze tingled the face of a young man as he stepped outside of the car. As he walked towards the venue of the concert, the sound of screaming fans filled the air.

Gulf stood in line while nervously gripping his ticket, it was his first time to attend a concert, a rock music concert. A flush of enthusiasm fills up the air, people getting more excited as the gates open and the line started moving. People started flooding in every direction.

Gulf stood at the entrance biting his lip, looking around confused as if he was lost puppy when he heard his name being called " Gulf! Gulf! here over here!!" his two friends were waving their hands as they walked towards him. Gulf went to where his friends are but he was stopped by a tall scary looking bouncer with a voice who sounded like a thunder " Ticket?!" Gulf got flustered for a moment before handing his ticket. The lady in uniform checked his ticket and nodded, smiling politely at him as she gesture the bouncer to let Gulf in.

Going to the entrance the volume of the music starts to increase, They walked to the floor where people were sitting to reserve a good spot, Gulf found a good location a merely few inches away from the stage. " You really got us a vvip ticket huh?"' Gulf bump the side if his friend looking impressed.

" Of course?! what do you take me for?" His friend Win boast. " The manager of the band is my cousin" he whispered to his friends.

" No fucking way!" Gun, their other friend uttered in surprised " And you are telling us just now because?" Gun inquired

" hhmmm... because I know how annoying you can get! argh!! I can't imagine you asking me about Phi Off the drummer every goddamned time" Win retorted!

" Phi Off? Are you close?! I hate you!!!" Gun barked in annoyance

Gulf just rolled his eyes at his two friends who are bickering non stop.

The constant chatter of thousand of fans filled the area. Gulf  was just observing and absorbing this new found experience when Win his friend tap his shoulder " Are you okay?!!!"

"Huh?!!! what?!!!" Gulf replied loudly

" I SAID ARE YOU OKAY?!!" Win screamed near him earning a wince of pain in his ears from the sudden increase in decibel from his friend. Gulf smiled and nodded in excitement.

"I am okay..." he assured him

Win squeezed his hand " Just have fun tonight, don't think of anything else" his bestfriend whispered at him. Gulf eyes immediately looked sad, it was only a day ago when life decided to fuck him up, turning his once happy and perfect family into a one big ball of lies and deceit.

Suddenly the venue turned dark, the next thing that was heard was the sound of a high-pitched electric guitar mixed with the screams of thousand of fans. As soon as the music start, flashes of lights illuminates the once darkened stage. Suddenly a voice was heard from the backstage followed by the silhouette of the five member bands being lifted by the elevation platform. The crowd went wild and swarmed towards the stage. The thunderous sound of the bass, the haunting melody of the guitars, the bass drum leaving a feeling of repercussion to once chest while being strum and the music that resonated in every keys from the keyboard. The level of sound was astronomical. Gulf could feel the vibrations of each sounds that was produced as if there is current passing through his body.

Grabbing his bestfriend's hands they squeeze themselves pushing their way through the crowds towards the front of the stage. Stuck in the middle of bodies jumping, falling and leaning against him. Just as Gulf begins to think that he cannot take the chaos anymore a melodious voice from the lead singer was heard. The tune was familiar, and the crowd went wild as the band continuos to play. The enthusiasm and dedication seeped through the singer's microphone as the strumming guitars,
beating drums and pounding bass reverberated through the large venue.

Gulf lost himself to the music, his body began to move in sync with the blaring guitar and beating of the drums. He found himself jumping up and down singing along to the lyrics of the song.

To Gulf who experienced this for the first time it felt overwhelming. The dedication of the fans as they move as one, jumping and swaying to the music, singing the lyrics simultaneously, not caring how they sound. He took a liking to this new found feeling, it's liberating, its freeing.

The music stopped and a loud cheer continued to be heard. It seemed like only a few seconds passed when the music started again, this time the tempo is a bit slow.

The once overly excited and hyper audience became silent as they swayed to the melody of the song. As the lead vocal of the band started to sing the first line, it sends shivers to Gulfs spine, like a festival feeling of sensory overload, his body felt stimulated in every area to its complete capacity.
He didn't notice that tears were starting to fall in his doe eyed orbs. As the feeling of being vulnerable consumed him. Despite the fans screaming and chanting, his focus was to the person on the stage who was singing passionately, with his dark set of onyx eyes staring right back at him. It was a moment when you look at somebody else eyes and you can feel them staring into your soul while the world goes quiet.

🎶 Close your eyes
Dry your tears
'Cause when nothing seems clear
You'll be safe here

From the sheer weight
Of your doubts and fears
Weary heart
You'll be safe here 🎶

When the light disappears
And when this world's insincere
You'll be safe here

When nobody hear you scream
I'll scream with you
You'll be safe here  🎶

( Song title: You'll be safe here)

At that moment there was nothing that exceeded the emotions that Gulf felt, as if the spotlight is pointed directly at him and the lead vocal and nobody else. Like they are the only people in that big arena and that man singing those words were directed solely at him, assuring him that he is safe, safe with him. That everything will be fine.

And at that moment when his heart was in chaos and he was lost in darkness, he found peace and a source of solace to the rock star in front of him.
