It took everything in me not to stare. She looked stunning. The blue she was wearing complimented her honey colored skin. Her perfectly painted eyelids making her pop. She was nothing short of gorgeous. The way her jacket laid on her body left her neck and collar bones open had me gripping the steering wheel tighter. She smelled sweet. Like coconut. It was intoxicating. I silently thanked God as we pulled into the restaurant's valet parking area. I had planned on getting out to open her door, but she beat me to it, stepping out with confidence. As if she were on a mission of some sort.

"Mr. Stone. I have your table in the back. Just as you asked, if you don't mind to follow me," the hostess greeted us with a smile, showing us to our table. I glance over at Ember to see her looking around the restaurant. She has a look of awe in her eyes. Coming to a stop at our table, I take a seat across from her. I went with a spot furthest from everyone. Where we weren't blinded by lights or distracted by other conversations.

"We'll take two waters to start with," I tell the waitress. Just before she can walk off, Ember stops her.

"Actually, I'll take a glass of red wine, please. Oh, and I'll be telling you order myself as well. Thank you," she says pointedly, shooting me an annoyed look. I chuckle lightly to myself opening the menu to take a look. I didn't need it. I have eaten here on numerous occasions, but the was a silence in the air I was afraid to break. I knew I could hold my own. However, there was something about this girl that told me she wasn't timid at all.

"So, where are you from- "

"No. We're not doing the extremely personal, first date, question thing. I don't date. Not anymore. This is supposed to be fun. Remember," she raises an eyebrow, darting her eyes up from the menu.

"Yes ma'am. Well, can I ask what your favorite color is?"

"Black. You?"

"Red. Why black?"

She lifted her gaze up to me again with a questionable look on her face, "First it goes with everything, so that is mostly all my wardrobe consists of. Second, it seems to match my everyday mood."

"You're not wearing black right now," I pointed out, unable to keep my eyes from scanning her once again.

"That's what happens when you have a soon to be model as your roommate. She gets to play dress up with a life-sized doll. Only that doll is shaped like her best friend and is mostly unwilling. After we had ordered our food, the silence seemed to creep back in. I was able to make small talk with her, but she didn't give much with any of my questions. I couldn't help but feel like this was going nowhere.

"You wanna make this fun? Like really fun?" based on the look she was wearing on her face I couldn't resist. My ears perked up and I leaned in. "Let's dine and dash. I'll go to the bathroom closest to the bathroom, while I'm in there you go get the car from the valet and wait for me."

I raised a brow at her. She was something else. Mischievous. Giving her a sly smile, she slid out of the booth and walked to the restroom by the front door. I watched her as she walked away. The confidence in her step. The sway of her hips. It was enough to make any man melt. I knew how to keep my composure though. Clearing my throat, I stood from my seat. I madem y way to the door and was stopped by our waitress.

"Sir, you haven't paid your bill."

"Put it on my tab. I'm trying to prove I'm fun," I straightened my shirt and walked out to get my car. Less than three minutes later, Ember walked out and got in. Something about my body language must have given it away based on the look she gave me.
