Emma looked at her phone, 7:22, still another 8 minutes until her alarm goes off. She basks in the warmth of her bed, dreading for the high pitched beeping noise she so dreaded to go off. "Beep beep beep beep". She fumbles with her phone and manages to turn the noise off. Reluctantly she drags herself out of bed and looks at herself in the mirror and yawns. "Yep that's what I like to look like in the morning" she laughs as she try's to tame her wild rats nest and wipe the sleep from her eyes. She walks out of her room and downstairs where she sees Jake, Olivia and Beatrice sat at the table eating pancakes.
"Wow what's going on here? Pancakes without me! Who are you people??" Emma shouted jokingly.
"Pancakes are for those of us who bother to wake up at an acceptable hour." Joked Jack - the others chuckle-
Emma marches over to where Jack was sitting and swiped a pancake from his plate.
"Hey!!"
"Sorry finders keepers losers weepers!"
"I'm pretty sure stealing doesn't count" said Olivia as Jack planted a kiss on her lips and said,
"That's why I love you, always sticking up for me"
"Bluuuurrgghhhhh" Emma and Beatrice both fake vomited and then continued to burst into fits of laughter.
"As much as it pains me to leave this lovely romantic soppy moment I need to go and get changed for uni."
Emma ran upstairs looked at the time, 7:45, SHIT, she had to be in uni in 45 minutes and she hadn't even had a shower. Scrap the shower she couldn't miss a lecture especially not one from Dr Winters the discoverer of anti bodies. She combed back her thick brown wavy hair into a high pony tail, threw on some leggings, a top, sweatshirt and brushed her teeth. After inspecting her teeth in the mirror, flossed and used mouthwash, she was very particular about the way she brushed her teeth, her mum always told her that you can tell the type of person by their teeth. A rather odd phrase, but since it was one of the few memories she had of her mum she thought she should stick by it and keep her teeth is tip top condition. She grabbed her books and headed back downstairs, she slipped on her favourite black Nikes and was about to leave out the door and cycle to uni when Beatrice stopped her and asked her if she wanted to go food shopping with her.
"Sorry B, but I really need to get to uni, there's this really important lecture, I should be back be lunch though so if you want we can go then, and maybe grab some lunch?"
"Yeah okay cool see you later
As Emma was cycling to school she was thinking about B and realised that lately B had been acting weird and maybe something was up with her. Emma walked into the lecture hall and only about 50 people were there.
"Thank god" exhaled Emma as she realised she was actually slightly early. She went and sat next to Maia, who she saw quite a lot of as they had the same courses. Maia was quite pretty, but in a subtle way, she could be really beautiful if she ditched the thick rimmed glasses and got a different hairstyle. Maia was quiet yet seemed to know loads of people. Everyone started sitting down as Dr a Winters came in and started setting up. I got out my paper and pen out and started making notes. I was writing and concentrating intently until out of nowhere a pen landed on the floor. It was probably mine so I ignored it and continued writing. And then a book landed on the floor. It definitely wasn't hers she looked around her and a guy was looking and smirking at her. She guessed the stuff was his so picked them up and passed them to him. He thanked her although looked slightly disappointed, but she had no clue what about. After another hour or so about anti bodies Emma packed up her stuff and was starting to leave when the guy she saw earlier stopped her and said:
"Hi I'm James."
"Ummm Hi I'm Emma." Again he had his disappointed face on. She still had no idea why.
"Is that it? Don't you recognise me in the slightest bit?"
"You seem a bit familiar..." She lied
"Oh my god I can't believe you don't recognise me. I'm James, James Highley. Do you remember me now?"
