Graduation day, hoorah! In the end, I was apart of the 218 trainees to hang on till graduation. I'm proud of myself, and my friends. It's been a gruelling three years; We put sweat, blood and tears into our commitment. When we're older, I'm sure we'll all look back and laugh with each other. They'll be fond memories.
I'm gonna miss Instructor Shadis, despite my better judgment. He's shaped me into a man, that's willing too spill my own blood for the greater good.
At least I won't have to take orders from that baldy, though. I don't wanna think about doing another 500 push-up training again.
But from here on out, I'll soon be a Scout of the Survey Corps.

"Dedicate your hearts!" Shadis commanded.

It was nighttime, the final night of boot camp for the 104th Cadet Corps. You all saluted, awaiting your Instructors words. Looking around you, you saw all your friends, that you got to make over the three years here. They all seemed happy and proud of their own personal achievements.

"Today, you trainee graduates will be given three choices. You can join the Garrison, protecting towns and reinforcing the walls. Or the Survey Corps, who risk their lives beyond the walls, in Titan territory. Or the Military Police, who serve the King, lead the people, and protect internal order."

You already knew which path to take, your destiny does not reside in these walls, or end inside them.

"Of course, only the top ten students, whose names were just announced can join the Military Police."

Though you did not rank amongst the top ten graduates, you were still extremely proud of your efforts. And you couldn't be prouder of Eren and Mikasa, who did place 5th and 1st.

After the ceremony was over, you were all allowed to visit a tavern in town. Mugs of ale and beer were sloshed against each other, people drunkly hanging of one another. Everyone who made it this far deserves this break. What's the point of life, if you can't enjoy the little things?

"I did it! I'm joining the Military Police!"

"We won't go hungry anymore!"

"Oi, Oi, I was certain you'd at least make it into the top ten, (Y/N)!" Reiner announce, slinging an arm around your shoulder.

"Even if you didn't, your still probably as strong as any of them though." Armin chimes in.

"I'm not too torn up about. As Baldy said, just because you came top ten, doesn't mean it equates to real life combat." You state, assuring your comrades.

"You seriously aren't considering joining the Military Police, Eren? I mean, you put in all that effort to make top ten." Thomas asked, baffled at Eren's decisions.

"I'd already decided when I began. I wasn't training to live in the Interior. I was and always will be, training to fight Titans." Eren answered honestly.

"B-But, you'll never beat 'em!" Thomas shouts, causing the rest of the tavern inhabitants to go quiet.

"I just mean, do you know how many tens of thousands have been eaten? We lost twenty percent of our population, so we know for sure. Humans can't beat the Titans." Thomas explains, causing a glum atmosphere to form over everyone.

"So? If you think we can't win, you'll just give up?" It's true that humanity has only suffered defeat until now. But we didn't know anything about the Titans then. Fighting them head-on is pointless. We did lose, but the information we gained gives us hope next time!"

Eren's words start to slowly inspire the rest. The words pouring out his mouth shocking and giving people the slivers of hope, they've been missing their entire lives.
