A shrill noise woke me up from my hideous dream, I was being chased by giant tubs of ice cream in every flavour imaginable. It's not so bad you might think, but I beg to differ, especially when your favourite treat decided to sprout arms, legs and a mouth that sported razor sharp teeth with no eyes to be seen on it's enormous ice cream tub body. What would you do if something like that comes running after you, chasing you off a cliff top.
Mhmm, didn't think about that now did you?
Rolling over on to my side I reached out to the offending device that was making the horrible noise. I really should stop eating ice cream for dinner. I picked up my phone and answered it without looking at the caller ID.
I asked, "What do you want?" in an irritated voice.
"Wow, someone got out on the wrong side of the bed" my best friend Emma said.
"Funny thing is, I haven't even left my bed yet and I'm most definitely not planning on doing so" I said in a sleepy voice.
"Well I'm not sorry to ruin your lovely plans, you're coming with me to a party tonight" she said with finality in her voice.
"No thanks, you can go. I'll stay right here in my snuggly bed" I said while cuddling up to my comforter.
"Snuggly, wuggly, buggely"
"You know, sometimes I think that you might just be normal, but then again, you aren't even close, I think you might have even escaped from a mental hospital" she said laughing loudly over the phone.
"Oh, do shut your mouth and if anyone escaped from a mental hospital, it's you" I said in a fake sweet voice.
"What evs, I'm coming to your house in five minutes, then we'll decide what we'll wear tonight" Emma said.
"It's nine in the morning Emma, parties usually start at seven a.m" I said
"Exactly! That means we only have ten hours to get ready" she exclaimed.
"You're crazy" I said with a sigh.
Who the hell takes ten hours to get dressed!
"Of course I am, see you in five" she said before ending the call, not even waiting for my reply.
Two hours later Emma arrived at my house, pulling out a suitcase from her car that looked big enough to fit my entire closet.
"What, did you decide to move in?" I teased.
"No, I just didn't know what to wear, so I thought I'd bring a few outfits with. You can help me choose" she said looking excited.
Another few hours passed and we were both situated in my living room in front of the TV watching American horror story. Emma insisted we start getting ready for the party, but I refused, saying that it was still too early. So Emma decided to start without me, that's why she was currently sitting on my couch with old fashioned curlers in her hair and staring at the TV with a scowl.
"How can anyone watch this crap? She asked in a grossed out tone.
"Easy, you sit and you watch" I commend dryly.
She sighed loudly and stood up to leave, a moment later I heard her calling from the direction of the kitchen.
"Don't you have any ice cream in this place?" She questioned.
Cringing at the 'I' word I stood up to help her search for what will one day be the cause of my death.
Death by chocolate ice cream, yum.
