Marinette pov-
I was in the gym in my mansion tearing apart a punching bag, taking out all of my anger and emotions on it.Punching, stabbing, slicing, shooting, ripping, kicking, just destroying it, but it wasn't working. I needed someone to fight, someone that I knew would be able to put up a fight, someone that would take a while to defeat.
Someone like my mentor, Slade Wilson.
Fighting and sparring him always helped my physically vent, and he always seemed to be able to tell when I needed it, because he would always appear out of thin air-
"Need a vent partner?" A smooth voice asked from above me, just as the punching bag snapped off its chain and went flying into the wall. I looked up to see none other than Slade.
I smirked. "Think of the devil and he shall appear. I was just thinking about calling you, Slade." I said as he jumped down from the gym rafters and landed on his feet to the cement floor. I could feel the smirk from behind his mask, and he took out his katana. I grinned and copied. "Thank you for coming, Slade. The bag wasn't helping." I said, and we started fighting, not going easy on the other.
I was lost in the fight, and I was going full Red Renegade on my mentor. I did notice that he had learned a few new moves that almost got me to lose, but I instantly adjusted and created new ones as I fought, a smile on my face and adrenaline in my veins. "You're learning to adapt to new fighting styles better. Good job, Kid." Slade praised, and I smiled brighter.
A long time later, the fight ended with him winning. I panted from the floor and looked at him. "I let you win," I said defiantly, and he laughed. "Sure you did. You would never admit defeat. I taught you well. You held your own well though, and I am proud of how well you're doing. I'll need to teach you a few more things, however, but you are still almost as good as I am." He said, putting his sword away and helping me up. I hugged him, something only Jay and I were allowed to do.
"Since you're here, can I get you anything? I was going to make dinner." I offered. He was quiet for a moment. "I don't see why not, if you don't mind having me." He said, and I grinned victoriously. "Great! JayJay will be happy to see you again, and my friends still need a lot of training. Oh, and we are having guests over for a while, and you are not allowed to hurt them." I said pointedly.
My mentor took his mask of and gave me a look. "It depends on who these guests are, Kiddo. Is it Bat, because I am going to kill him if it is, and your rule won't be able to stop me." He warned. I shook my head. "No, it's not him. It's the Wayne brothers, and Alfred Pennyworth. The boys didn't know anything about what Bruce was doing to Beloved, and Alfred said that they almost killed him when they found out. He is currently still in the hospital in a coma and body cast." I said smugly, proud of the boys.
I led Slade through the manor and to the kitchen. "So, whose taking care of Gotham if all of you are here in Paris then?" He asked, sitting at the island in a bar stool. I handed him a beer from the fridge. "Me. I'm flying back and forth, and it lets me stretch out my wings and I'm getting faster at flying! Tomorrow, I'm going to race Superman and Superboy, and Flash and Kid Flash. They made a bet that they were faster than me, and I'm going to leave them in the dust. The whole Justice League and Young Justice are in on the bet, and everyone in the house and heroes in New Jersey as well. Word about the bet for out to Gotham, and everyone is betting." I said excitedly.
Slade laughed. "Oh, I am definitely going to be there. How much is the bet?" He asked. I smirked. "I don't know if you can financially afford it, old man. The numbers are in the millions and about to hit the billions." I said, getting the stuff out to make fried rice, steak, and a salad. "The race is tomorrow morning, and the starting point is Wayne Enterprises roof, and the first one to make it around the globe 1 time wins. I'm excited for it. Jay told me that even if I lose, I'll still win because he says that I'm the best one out of everyone, and that Angels always win, and that I was his special Angel, so he knew that I will win." I said with a blush and a smile.
