My time is up

The rest of the week was the best of my life so far at the time, but also the fastest passing.. After this Thoma would decide, I was afraid of rejection, I'm guessing Ayaka was too (obviously). Thoma gathered both of us together before deciding. "I think-" my sister covers his mouth. "Please.. let me prepare first." she was anxious for his answer, I was too. I can't quite explain what I felt in that moment, was it eagerness, stress, fear? I don't really know. The best I can do to explain it is "a mixture of fruits all blended into a smoothie" alone, they're amazing, but when they're all mixed together it leaves a bad taste in your mouth and you aren't sure how to feel about it. I know it's a silly analogy but I just want to identify it somehow.

Being unsure about absolutely anything terrifies me, it's almost like when deciding something, for me, it's like you get to control something in your life. Most of the things you can't, that's inevitable, but when you're sure about your wants or even just about identifying a problem or feeling you have, you feel great. "Let's gather at Chinju Forest at 11PM, then we will be ready to hear you make your decision." I tell him, then hold my sister's hand. "Let's head back home for now." I tell her. Me and my sister wanted to prepare for this whole thing mentally, but we also wanted to look our best, we wore our finest clothes, the ones we'd never worn before. Proving just how important this was to us both.

I look at my sister, struggling to put her hair up on two sides. "Want some help?" I ask her. "Y-yeah.. that'd be nice." she says, as if embarrassed to ask her older brother for help with putting her long blue hair up. I give a small chuckle as I put one side up with the tie she gave me, placing a rose into the front part of her hair and clipping it back slightly. I do the other side and ask her how I did, she then looks in awe at the mirror and quickly turns around and jumps up to hug me "Thank you so much Ayato..!" this was probably the first time she's seen me do hair (do it well anyway), but I'll admit, I've clipped my own hair back on multiple occasions for convenience while busy, so it's practically a reflex by now. I guess it's also because I'm pretty good with my hands too. We walk to Chinju Forest, hands intertwined and tightly gripping together in anxiousness. "Ready?" I make sure, she takes a deep breath in and out, "yes" we see Thoma sitting on a step while waiting, he sees us and quickly stands up in respect. "Hello my lord, my lady, so I take it you're ready?" we nod.
