For their end-of-the-year celebration, the quartet decided to go on a celebration trip to the beach. They went to the coast for a day, since they were still only seventeen and couldn't book places overnight yet.
Jasper spoke to Blue and Magenta beforehand, telling them he wanted the space to propose to Shelby. He wanted to wed her after the end of high school, maybe one or two years down the line. It also depended on what Shelby's response was. They hadn't talked about getting married, not extensively but they mentioned the topic one or two times in the past.
With Magenta, Shelby shared before about what kind of wedding she wanted. Shelby wanted a wedding by the sea, so this beach proposal idea was awesome. Magenta already had the sea ideas in her head. She was so happy for Shelby and Jasper.
"Oh my god! That's so awesome, Jas!" Magenta said, jumping up and down.
Blue clapped a hand on Jasper's shoulder in congratulations.
"Thank you. I need your help though, I need one person to distract her, and I might need some prep help," Jasper said.
Magenta distracted Shelby as they settled on a spot with their beach towels. Magenta revealed her skimpy bikini and Shelby whistled.
"Damn, girl you trying to give Blue a heart attack?" Shelby asked.
Magenta smiled and she said, "Maybe. What about you, what are you wearing today?"
Shelby showed Magenta her version of a 'modest' swimsuit and Magenta laughed.
"Jasper is going to go gaga over that," Magenta said.
"Wanna go for a swim?" Shelby asked.
"I'm gonna sunbathe and get a cool tan," Magenta said, waving her ahead.
As soon as Shelby went to the water, Magenta texted Jasper and Blue in their group chat.
Ma1g: Eagle is in the sea, swimming. Is the place ready? Copy.
Jasz: Mag, you don't have to talk like a spy agent
Bloo: I like it
Jasz: Oh yeah, of course, you would. Have you done cosplay?
Ma1g: What's that
Jasz: ...never mind. We're almost ready. Stall her for five.
Ma1g: Sparrow signing off.
Shelby and Magenta conversed for a while before Shelby noticed the boys' absence.
"Where did they go, I thought we were all together just now. They went to the toilet for that long?" Shelby asked.
Magenta said, "Ooo I just got a text from Blue. I sent him a picture of my bikini."
"Oh damn, what did he say?" Shelby asked.
"He sent this," Magenta showed Shelby a picture of a tent and then a no horny Shiba dog sticker.
Shelby slapped her thigh and she said, "Ah, I love dogs. They're so cute. Can you send me that sticker?"
Magenta pretended to have technical difficulties, unable to send the sticker. She swiped on her phone a few times before the message came. They were ready.
"O, Blue just texted me. They said they found a better spot on the other side of the beach."
"Let's go then!" Shelby dried off with a towel, picked up her things and Magenta slipped on a shirt.
They walked to the other side slowly, chatting about the weather and what they planned to eat for lunch later.
"I heard the seafood is super good here," Shelby said.
