The truth?

Jahoon: Mom! Dad! I will be going on over to Haewon's house! I will be home later for dinner!

Mom: Alright but don't be home late for dinner!

Dad: And also be safe out there!

Jahoon: I will!

I put on my shoes and jackets before heading out of the door. I began making my way to Haewon's house which wasn't that far away from my own, just a couple of blocks away. It has been about a month since Haewon and I started trying to date each other. Up until now, I must admit that I had the time of my life but still it wasn't anything I felt compared to when I was on a date with Yujin. She made me feel like I was in heaven or something like that. Wait! Why am I still thinking about her when she screwed me over like that? She doesn't even deserve a thought of mine for what she did.

Yujin: Jahoon unnie!

Did I hear Yujin calling for me? No no, I'm just hearing things. There is no way that I just heard her voice. Stupid Jahoon how can you become so attached to her? She had been trying to talk with me but the girls always managed to get in her way. But for the past week, she has been staying away from me so there could be no way that it was her.

Yujin: Jahoon unnie!

This time it sounded much closer. Like it was coming from right behind me. Suddenly someone grabbed my arm and made me turn around to face them.

Jahoon: Yujin... What are you doing here?!

Yujin: I want to tell you the truth. All of what you have seen that day aren't the truth. There is more to it.

Jahoon: Oh! There is more to it! How you were already dating Wonyoung for a long time before you began dating me? That you have been using other girls like me in the past? I'm sorry Yujin but there is no more for us to talk about. As I have already said actions speak louder than voices. Goodbye Yujin.

I pulled my arm away from Yujin and began walking toward Haewon's house again but suddenly Yujin ran in front of me and spread her arms to stop me from walking any further.

Yujin: I know that actions speak louder than voices but please hear me out. Please just one time. You don't have to say anything to me at all but please just listen to me for once. I will leave you alone afterward if that is what you want.

Yujin looked at me with determination on her face. Was it worth it to hear her out? Or would it just be a waste of time? It wouldn't hurt to hear out but on the other hand, I'm already dating Haewon now.

Jahoon: Fine. I will allow it but don't expect me to forgive you for it.

Yujin: It is fine and I would be doing the same if I were in your shoes. I'm just glad that you would at least listen to my side of the story. Should we go over to the café over there to talk?

I nodded. We made our way over to the café just across the street where we were standing. I was happy that there were a lot of people around because if I got in an unwanted situation, at least I knew that I had some people to back me up. We got inside and sat in a cubicle near the window.

Yujin: I know that you want to get over this quickly but please allow me to at least treat you for the last time.

Yujin walked over to the counter and began ordering for both of us. I just leaned back in my seat and looked out of the window while sighing. What did I agree to? A few minutes later Yujin returned back to the table with a tray full of cakes and drinks.

Yujin: I'm sorry that I didn't ask you what you wanted but I got you your favorite cake and drink. Chocolate cake and lemon ice tea.

Jahoon: Thank you but please get to the point. I have a place to be.

Yujin: Right. You are probably going to visit Haewon. You two are a couple now after all. But what I wanted to tell you is that what you saw that day at the gym wasn't the truth. It was all planned out by Wonyoung. She was the one that planted the rumors that I was dating her and that I was just using you to get your money. She was the one who asked me to come to the gym. She was the one who kissed me first. All of this was her plan.

Jahoon: And how can I trust you that you aren't just throwing all of the guilt on Wonyoung to save yourself? Do you have any proof? Anything that can make me trust you?

Yujin: I don't....

Jahoon: Then until you find something that will make me believe you, I will not forgive you yet. And don't try to contact me before that.

I stood up from my seat and made my way out of the café. I continued to make my way toward Haewon's house but I couldn't shake off my conversation with Yujin. Something about the way she said it made me think that she was telling the truth. The confidence and seriousness in her eyes were too strong not to be telling the truth. Also thinking about it all of it seemed kind of plan. The rumors began right after I was dating Yujin, not already beginning when Yujin was trying to get close to me. Also, the day at the gym seemed kind of planned too. I mean how could it be that on the exact same day that I was returning to school that Wonyoung and Yujin suddenly were together at the gym? And how did the other girls know that they were at the gym without being tipped off? Everything that happened that day didn't seem natural at all. Something is going on but I can't put my finger on it. I arrived at Haewon's house and took out the spare key that she had given me. I opened the lock and the door as quietly as possible because I wanted to surprise her but in the end, I got surprised myself I think?

Haewon: Look, you got what you wanted. I got to be with Jahoon and you got to be with Yujin. That was our deal but that didn't mean for you to go and embarrass Jahoon like that with those rumors. You should have found another idea. What do you mean by that? Of course, I wanted to get with Jahoon and of course, I wanted her to stay away from Yujin but that didn't mean that I was agreeing to let her be humiliated like this! Hey! Hey! Don't hang up on me! God damn it!

So Haewon has been behind this too? So what Yujin had been trying to tell me was real? I can't believe it... I can't believe that my best friend would do something like this. I opened the door again and slammed the door to indicate that I was coming.

Jahoon: Haewon! I'm here!

Haewon: Jahoon! I'm in the living room!

I took off my shoes and jacket before walking inside and saw Haewon looking at me with a wide smile.

Haewon: Why didn't you tell me that you were going to be here soon? Then I could at least have the time to change! I got a little dirty trying to make some food for you.

Haewon walked over to me and wrapped her arms around me with a wide smile on her face. I planted a kiss on her cheek and smiled, trying to act like I didn't hear anything.

Haewon: Wait here for a moment while I'm going up to change. Oh! And by the way, my parents are out of town for the next month so you can stay over any day you want.

Haewon walked upstairs to her room, leaving me alone in the living room. I sat down on the sofa and took a deep breath. Yujin might have been trying to tell me the truth the whole time but how is Haewon a part of this? I have to find a way to get into Haewon's phone. Clearing Haewon's name...or Yujin's.
