I paid for the drinks and exited the tavern, leaving everyone silent.
"I actually kinda wanted to warn you about her but you deserved that so, screw you," I overheard Porto say to them silently, but I still heard it, before he and Blaze followed me. "Thea!" he called as he ran slowly, catching up to me. He gently grabbed my wrist and moved in front of me, forcing me to stop walking. I glanced at him without showing any emotion. "You actually didn't have to do that."
My eyebrows furrowed. Blaze had also gotten up to us. "Didn't you just say they deserved it?" I pointed out.
"Yeah, but, you still should've held back at least a little. You broke his bone! One twist was enough!" He said in a loud whisper.
"Why do you always have something for us to argue about?" I hissed at him.
"Uh..." Blaze said as he slowly lifted both of his hands to calm us down, but we disregarded him.
"Why do you keep making trouble anywhere you go?" He hissed back.
"I am not having this right now, Porto," I said before walking past him. I heard him let out a sound of frustration and once again, he was in front of me.
"Look, will you just chill out once in a while? You're the one who always has something for us to argue about, not me," he whispered angrily.
"Me? Says you who suddenly talks to me and says things that aren't even necessary to say!" I tried to walk past him again but he grabbed my arm and pulled me back.
"You're overreacting again," he said.
"I wasn't overreacting, Porto, when was the time you and I argued because I was overreacting? And for the record, we're never fought like this before! And now, you just keep driving me over the brink!" People have started looking at us as they pass by us. Porto let go of my arm.
"Uh, shouldn't you guys go somewhere a bit more private-" Blaze couldn't finish.
"You've changed. Ever since we left the Under- no. Ever since you met him," he said, looking me in the eyes as he aggressively points at Blaze. "Ever since you met him, you've changed."
"It's not really a good idea to argue in a place like thi-" Blaze persevered.
"No! You're the one who has changed, Porto, you've gone mad! And stop blaming other people for this stupid argument!" I tried to walk past him yet again he stopped me by my arm and I quickly pulled back, "Argh, just- just leave me alone! I am NOT having any of this bullshit, Porto!" I stormed off, tears streaming down my cheeks. He looked at me with surprise and regret on his face. I'd never felt that angry before, and I knew that if I did, there was no stopping the tears from falling. And I hated that.
I hadn't calmed down since four days ago, and now I was losing myself. It's all thanks to Porto. The one I thought would never treat me like that. I feel cheated in some manner because I thought I knew him quite well after spending twelve years with him. We barely leave one other's side, and it now feels as if everything was a waste, which makes my chest heavier.
My feet had already carried me to our ship and I was gathering my belongings. I didn't want to leave this magnificent ship after only a few days, but I also can't stay here with Porto acting like an asshole to me. That will not help me achieve my objectives in any manner. In fact, it would just get in the way. And I know Porto will look after this ship as best he can. I wrote a note after packing my belongings, leaving some things that aren't important for my journey- in one bag as quickly as possible. I swiftly entered their room and noticed Porto's bag on top of the right bed, so I assumed it was his, and I placed my note for him above it with the compass. I could buy another one with the money I brought with me, leaving the bag of money from Uncle Gus and the valuables we received from the royal pirates behind, and I quickly left.
