Ps before you start reading this chapter will be violent, you're discretion is advised.

Dipper hasn't seen Pacifica in school for 3 days. Pacifica was never absent from school so it was strange for her being off for 3 days straight.

For the last 3 days, which he had science, he would turn around to see if Pacifica was there, she wasn't, instead he would see Joe staring angrily at him and he kept insisting him to turn around. Dipper would do what he was told to do but he kept on asking himself why was Joe staring at him angrily.
'I mean, if him and Pacifica are happy together, why is he angry? Did I do something that anger him? Or did Pacifica?' Dipper thought.

It was now Thursday and Dipper just got out of Maths, his last lesson of the day. He was on his way back to the Mystery Shack but he saw a familiar blonde walking up to Joe. She was walking slowly hugging her books up high and looking down.

"Pacifica? Hey Pacifica!" Dipper ran up to her before she was near to Joe. Dipper was glad that Pacifica was back after those 3 days. Pacifica was glad to see Dipper also, however she was afraid.

"Pacifica where have you been?" Pacifica turned around to face Dipper still looking down.

"Dipper can we talk another time, now is not a good time" Pacifica whispered as she looked to her side to see Joe, afraid.

"Pacifica, what's wrong" Dipper whispered back.

"Ahh, Pines, Dipper Pines right? The schools biggest nerd and mystery hunter!" Joe laughed as he mocked Dipper.

"Is there anything wrong here sweetheart?" Joe approached Pacifica and he put his arm on Pacifica's shoulders while looking at Dipper grinning and chewing gum.

Ignoring the insults from Joe, Dipper just realised that Pacifica was covering half of her face with her new hairstyle...An unusual style for her. She normally shows off her appearance but not today.

"There's nothing wrong here......dear.." Pacifica said to Joe, frightened to say anything else.

As Joe placed his hand over Pacifica's shoulder, Joe pulled her closer to him making Pacifica lean on his chest. When this happened her hair covering her face swayed revealing a dark patch on her cheek.

By the facial expression Dipper had, Pacifica knew he saw the bruise.

"Dipper it's not tha-" Worried Pacifica but was cut off by Dipper.

"Who did that?!" Dipper held her head gently, moving Pacifica's hair to reveal the bruise.
"Was it your father again!" He continued furious.

"Dipper it's oka-" Trembled Pacifica but again was interrupted. This time by Joe punching Dipper on the cheek, putting Dipper on the floor.

"You're a bit close too her don't you think Pines" Joe walked towards Dipper who was still on the ground.

"And you're getting too close to her personal life as well, I see" Joe said and this time he was rolling his sleeves up.

Joe raised his arm, about to punch Dipper but Pacifica stopped him, well tried at least.
"Joe! Don't do it-" Pacifica says as she struggled to stop Joe.

"Outta my way sweetheart! He knows too much" Joe back handed slapped her in the same place as the bruise was, Pacifica fell to the floor in pain.

Dipper watched helplessly as he saw what Joe did to Pacifica.
"Pacifica!...." Dipper reached out for her but as he did he was kicked in the stomach.
