Chapter 6 - Book Buddy

April 2, 4:00 pm.

Currently, I was reading the third volume of the book entitled Algebra and Calculus. I felt satisfied that I was still able to understand and retain the previous volumes inside my head.

And for a job well done, I'll buy myself a chocolate donut later.

While going out of my seat to buy donuts, I immediately sensed that someone was watching me from afar. When I look at that person, it was the girl with silver hair who read books since yesterday.

Although, the girl looks like she was reading a book, I know for sure that she is just pretending as I always sensed that she glanced at me from time to time.

So for now, I decided to withhold myself on buying donuts and observe the current situation.

Now that I realize it, I can't help but ask myself on why she was always glancing at me? Does she have any ill intentions against me or...

Is she interested in me?

I mean, c'mon, if she really is interested on me, then I can only blame my handsomeness.

Wait...

When did I act like this? Is this the curse bestowed to someone if someone was in contact with a narcissist person? If so, then it was a deadly disease! It will cause an epidemic in the entire country of Japan!

As I thought of the effects of the newly discovered disease, I realized that 2 hours have passed while observing the girl, and so far, she didn't do anything noteworthy. So I decided to leave the library for donuts.

"Wait!"

But suddenly, someone tugged my lower sleeve, thus, I couldn't help but look at the person who grabbed me.

And to my surprise... it was the girl with silver hair who always look at me...

"Is there anything I can help you?" I asked.

"Uhmm..."

What will she do? Will she confess on me? I'm still not ready yet! My heart is still not ready for a relationship.

After a short while, she finally gathered the courage to speak on what's her mind.

"Are you also perhaps interested in books?" she asked.

Oh... so it's about books.

Sigh, I guess I can only sigh in regre- I mean, relief.

"Uhh, I guess?"

I mean, I'm only reading books that only covers Algebra and Calculus. Other than that, I didn't read any literature books.

"But honestly, I didn't read any books coming from the most famous authors, though"

"Oh, is that so..."

Instead of the reply she wants to hear, it was unfortunately the opposite. Which is why she has a somber expression on her face.

Since I was the only person who comes to the library at the first day of school, she thinks that we have the same interest, thus, she tries to approach me. However, after hearing my reply, her head droop in sadness as she also want to have company in reading books.

"I'm sorry if I waste your time, please excuse me-"

"Hm?"

As she was about to excuse herself, I unintentionally looked at the book she was holding. Because of that, I can't help but voice out my surprise.

That is because it was the book that I was really familiar of...

"Wait, is this one of Agatha Christie's books, The Murder is Announced?"
