It started out with a brush over call to her dad "Hey Dad, I forgot my textbooks at moms, i'm just gonna stay there tonight" to a daily avoidance of staying at her dads at all.
"I don't get what I did wrong" EZ told his ex Olivia, talking about their daughter, Natalia.
Liv rubbed his back "She's growing up Ezekiel, things don't always make sense. I'll try get through to her tonight though, okay?" Liv said then giving him a hug and bidding him goodbye.
It was a couple hours later when Liv walked into her daughters room "We need to talk" She said
Natalia looked up at her mother questioningly.
"Why are you avoiding your dad?" Liv asked
Natalia rolled her eyes, sick of the questions she had been receiving for the last week now.
"Hey, who taught you to be that disrespectful" Liv said
"Sorry, i'm not trying to be disrespectful, i'm just sick of the question" Nat replied
Liv nodded "I get that, but you haven't given a single reason as to why you won't see your Dad"
"I want to stay here, with you" Nat said
"And I love that, I do. I want you here aswell. But your dad is beside himself, I want you to have a good relationship with him." Liv replied before adding "and beyond that, I just want you safe and happy"
Nat began to cry "Me too"
"Hey, hey, what's this about" Liv asked
Nat shook her head
"I love you. You know you can tell me anything. You are safe at your dads, aren't you?" Liv said
Nat nodded through her tears.
"Hey, it's gonna be okay. But I think it would be good to spend the weekend with your Dad" Liv said
"The whole weekend?" Nat asked in worry
Liv placed a reassuring hand on her leg "Yes, but if you need anything, i'm just a phone call away"
"Just for the weekend right and then i'm back home with you?" Natalia asked
Liv nodded "Yes, honey"
It was the Friday afternoon, Letty had just picked Natalia up from school and they had arrived back at the Mayans club.
Natalia got out of the car, slamming the door and walking straight past her father.
EZ's heart shattered in two.
"Fuck this" Angel said, storming off after her.
When Angel entered the room, Natalia was sitting on the couch, scrolling through her phone, not talking to anyone.
Angel looked around the room at Chucky, Gilly, Coco giving them the 'get out of here' eyes.
Once the room cleared, Angel approached his niece sitting on the couch, directly beside her.
She said nothing.
"Oh, so your not to talking to me either?" Angel asked
"Hi" She said
"Hi" Angel replied, then gently taking the phone out of Natalias hands.
Natalia sat there not saying a word.
"How are you?" He asked
That was all it took. Natalia burst into tears.
Angel reached over, wrapping his niece in a hug "It's okay, I got you"
