SPLASH!I wake up with a jolt. Wait...why do I feel wet?
"Happy Birthday Halley!" My parents shrieked, throwing around confetti and balloons all over my room. They are both wearing stupid looking birthday hats and I roll my eyes.
"So...why am I wet?"
My mom rolled her eyes, "Halley, didn't wake up when we were shaking and yelling at you, I swear, you sleep like the dead."
"No swearing, Mom," I teased and she rolled her eyes again.
"Whatever, just hurry up and get downstairs to eat your extra special birthday breakfast!" And with that, my parent scampered off to the kitchen.
Sighing, I slowly got up, cringing as I saw how wet my clothes were, not to mention my bed.
It looked like I freakin pissed myself.
I peeled off my clothing and walked to my closet to choose an outfit. I look down and am surprised when I see a gift bag. I bend over and examined the bag. On it, there was a small piece if paper which had 'open me' written on it.
Chuckling, I peeked into the bag and see a gorgeous ocean blue high low dress. The bottom of the dress was a dark blue and it got lighter as it went up. There was also a matching crochet cardigan in the bag. I put them on and I smiled content at myself.
My long auburn hair tumbled down in their natural curls and my electric blue eyes stared back at myself. I put on my necklace. It was a simple golden locket. Mom gave it to me when I was little, claiming that it would protect me. Wearing it does make me feel secure.
I smiled at myself shyly before looking down, embarrassed at staring at the beautiful girl in the mirror.
Look up Halley! And that's an order!
I looked up ad momentarily saw my eyes flash gold before fading back into their natural blue colour.
I had alpha blood.
When I was 16, I first shifted into my midnight black wolf. I wasn't aware that I was a werewolf until my parents discovered me in my wolffish form and explained to me what was happening.
"Someone in our ancestry must've been a wolf," my mom explained to me.
"Not to mention an Alpha," my dad added.
"What's an alpha?" I asked, I was still weak after shifting for the first time.
"Alphas are leaders of a pack," my mom answered.
"And packs are a group of wolves," my dad answered the question in my eyes.
"But wait," I said, "how do you know so much about werewolves?"
Their eyes turned cold before covering it up with a smile, "You'll learn soon enough."
I sighed, snapping back to reality. I slowly started to apply makeup. Light, and simple. After I was done, I headed downstairs.
I was immediately greeted by a waft of bagels, bacon, and muffins.
"Hal, you took forever!" Mom complained, immediately shoving a muffin in my hand.
"Hurry up, hon, or I'll eat all the bacon," my dad piped up.
I stared at the plate. There was one piece of bacon left. One!
"Where's my special breakfast?" I whined, crossing my arms across my chest.
"I burnt it, deal with it," Mom said dead panned before snatching the muffin out of my hand and taking a big bite out of it.
