Summary:

As Katsuki and Eijiro stargaze together, watching a meteor shower, they both realize it's now or never. What better way to confess than under the stars as the sky falls around them?
Work Text:
The night sky spread above the roof of the UA dorms, stars twinkling brightly. On the horizon, Katsuki could see the tops of city buildings glowing with lights. His breath puffed in the chilly air, though he was warm under his jacket. His crimson eyes stared wide at the city before him. The moon was full, just starting to creep toward the west horizon. The air was still with the moist coldness of December. It was almost as if Katsuki was the only person who existed in the entire world, everything was unstirring and silent.

His heart beat steadily as he pulled his knees to his chest, resting his head with a gentle smile on his face. The rest of Class 1-A was fast asleep, unaware of the events about to unfold. Katsuki raised his head as he saw the first bright white streak in the sky. His chest grew a size, filled with nostalgia. His mind shifts to the first meteor shower he had ever seen. His family had been camping with the Midoriya's. They had the perfect view as they sat at the shore of a lake. Shitty nerd kept mumbling through it all. Ruined the whole fucking thing.

His shoulders tensed as he heard a footstep. It wasn't him, was it? Of course it was. Shitnerd was always up his ass. Katsuki turned, spitting, "Oi, go the f-" he paused in his tracks as he saw a figure too tall to be Izuku. As he stepped closer, Katsuki could see Eijiro with a Crimson Riot hoodie, his hair pulled into a bun. Katsuki's heart studdered, but he brushed the feeling away, turning his head back to the sky, "the fuck you want, Shitty Hair?"

Eijiro took a few steps and dropped himself next to his friend, "probably the same thing you are, bakubro. I want to watch the meteor shower. You don't strike me as the stargazing type." He kept his face turned to the night sky, his hood flipped up. Katsuki huffed, "tch. So what if I am? Shut up, Shitty Hair." Another light shot across the sky.

Katsuki watched another shooting star, and another, warmth radiating from his friend watching the shower with him. The smell of colone wafted from Eijiro. Katsuki slowly took a deep breath through his nose, his mind calm and steady. He would never admit it, but he had always felt less angry around Kirishima since they met, even more so after he had helped him escape the League of Villains.

Eijiro shared the same sentiments as the scent of caramel floated toward his nose. He couldn't ever get enough of the boy beside him. The redhead shivered as the cold seeped through his hoodie. I really should have worn a jacket. His eyes shifted away from the sky to Katsuki's face. He nearly jumped back in surprise as his heart stopped for a full minute as he saw a warm glow in his expression. His eyes were full of child-like wonder, his pupils reflecting the shooting stars that were streaking the sky, picking up in frequency as the night went on. His lips were curled into a soft smile.

Under the moonlight, his jawline looked softened, no longer carrying the angry scowl he usually bore. There was no aggression in Katsuki's expression, his shoulders relaxed. Katsuki looked happy. There wasn't anything Kirishima wouldn't do to see him like this. Now, he knows it's possible.

Eijiro tore his eyes away from his friend. Friends. He reminded himself. Bakugo isn't gay. Even if he was, why would he even be interested in someone like me? He focused his gaze on the sky, dozens of streaks flying past. His own expression melted to match that of Katsuki's, his jaw slightly open. He had never seen something so beautiful in his life. It made his heart race, his thoughts slowing down to witness the night light up with falling stars.

His mother told him he could wish upon shooting stars. Maybe wishes could come true? Who knows. His eyes flicked to Katsuki, then back at the sky, choosing a streak to wish upon. I want to see that smile every day. That's my wish. It's totally cliche and unmanly, but that's what I want.
