Chapter 5 - The Run Away

PRESENT 

Return Flights to Sydney, Australia within 2 months. PAID. 

Ok I'm doing this, I'm really doing this. What everyone is going to think I don't know but we'll see, I only know that Michael will do anything to stop me from seeing Jacob but I don't care, I need to do this.

"Whatcha doing??" Nomi asks

"Just booked the flight for the wedding now"

"Wait, you are actually going?"

"Yeah well I guess now"

"But you were literally having a mental breakdown over it, are you sure you can handle it?"

"Nomi, you know me, I got this"

Or so I hope.

"What's the plan for today?" I ask her

"Just walking Astro, do you want to come with?"

"Sure"

We both got changed into 'appropriate' walking clothes (just some tights and sports crop top) and left the apartment. We start to walk around campus and then eventually find ourselves towards the arboretum just behind the business building. Nomi asks to look through so I look after Astro outside, letting him out of his leash so he can run around a little.

As I sit down on a bench near him, I contemplate on what our lives have become. What does Jacob even do now? Does he have a 9 to 5 job? He didn't want that, he wanted to always be outside and doing something with animals or kids. Has he changed? Have both of us changed? I mean it has always been my dream to go to Penn State but never to stay in America forever until the heartache between us. We'll see where this wedding takes us.

Nomi exits the arboretum just as I finish thinking and calls for Astro.

"Astro, Astro" she calls

"Where did he go? You were supposed to be watching him"

"I'm sorry I just was thinking" I replied

I start looking around the area we are surrounding and see no trace of him. Nomi and I are both freaking out. We ran back towards the apartment and he was nowhere near the Summers' building. Where the hell is that dog? Where is my little buddy?

"Come on we got to tell campus security" Nomi says.

Damn this will not be good.
