CHAPTER TWENTY || GABRIEL

Lori sniffles continuing on with her statement, "Mr. Devant has went crazy trying to ruin your life, those men that took your mother were his two sons, Christan and Anthony and that little slut of yours.

I growl at her words, "He hates her because of her betrayal to the family. For taking to hospitality you've given her. She's next on his list, Gabriel. He want's her dead and won't rest till she is." she finishes and throws her head down trying to catch her breath.

"Your a fucking liar!" I scream in her face. And more tears fall down her face. "not to tuff now are we?"

"Why would I lie about this Gabriel, why would I lie I dont wanna die!!" she cries and I back off.

I panic. He words finally set in, they want my love to die. To take her away from me and my daughter forever. I swear I will never let that happen.

I pull my gun out and hold it to her forehead. I stare into her eyes as they plead for me not to pull the trigger. A tear falls from the corner of my eye and I shake.

"Gabriel please." she says weakly. This is the mother of my child. My first love.

I drop the gun and put it back in my pants. I just run out the room to check on my girls. I wish the horrible woman was gone but I can't right now.

I rush up to the backyard and run into the party and peoples eyes go to me. But eventually back to what they were doing. I look around and my eyes catch Imani and Val blowing bubbles in the grass.

I run over and swoop Imani into my arms. I pull her deep into a kiss but she pulls away kinda quickly. I see tears in her eyes. "you okay baby? I ask setting her down.

"Yeah I just got a little bubble solution in my eyes, im fine" she wipes her eyes and turns around taking Val into her arms.

"You want ice cream pretty girl?" she questions Val tickling her stomach. Val laughs in her arms and nods her head.

They walk away from me and I let out a huge gust of air. There okay. There okay. I keep saying that as Nia walks over to me.

"Gabe, what happened with Lori?" she whispers as we move to a more discret location. "she gave me the information."

"Did you kill her?" she rushes out crossing her arms. She sways back and worth waiting for an answer.

"No, I was but I chickened out. Something came over me." I lean against the house and she runs her fingers through her thick black locks.

"Fuck Gabriel." she stresses.

"Do you need me too?" she asks leaning in very close. "no." I say sternly.

"I'll do it damnit Nia, stay out of it. We may need her." I walk away back to the party and find Imani sitting on a chair.

"Hey baby." I lean over and kiss her passionately. She pulls away again and plays with the ring.

"It's beautiful isn't it?" It's a family airloom. A 24k gold band with a huge emerald on top.

"Yeah.." she says.

"ALESSIO!" I scream. He had ran up to my duaghter kissing her on the cheek again. "what did I say!!" I spring up running over to them.

I see Mani's smile go up a bit but then back to sadness.
