So mountain banshees are called Hell birds or volcano banshees. The Toruk is now a Tonuk
This definitely has some misspellings so I will have to fix that, but I'm too lazy to rn ✌

Volcanic ash crunched under Zentari's weight as she trudged up the side of the island. She couldn't help but look back at the drop below occasionally, it looked intimidating honestly. The sound of a twig snapping and a high pitched yell broke her out of her trance. "So uh, why are we RISKING OUR LIVES again?" Kai swung himself to a more secure spot before shooting Zentari a proper glare. "I told you it was gonna be dangerous and that you could stay home if you wanted to! But nooooooo you just had to come." Zentari rolled her eyes and returned to scaling up the side. Climbing up the side of a floating island was definitely one of her least favorite things to do, but it's the only place to find the thing she's after. "That still didn't answer my question!" Kai called, but climbed after her anyway. "Oh, Dios mío, ¿¡por qué debes ser tan molesto!? (Oh my god, why must you be so annoying!) I'm after a hell bird, if I want to be accepted by my father, I need one of those!"

Zentari pointed to one flying through the air, its vibrant colors wasn't good camouflage in Zentari's opinion. Then again, they don't need it if they have nothing to hide from. With an "oof" Zentari heaved herself over the top of the island, flipping onto her back to catch her breath. After a few minutes Kai popped over, panting like a dog in 100° weather. "So....now.....what?" Kai took a deep breath and collapsed next to her, causing Zentari to giggle. "Catch your breath first big guy!" Kai swatted at her arm, missing as she dodged and laughed more. "But seriously, it's your birthday, why are we out here?" Zentari sighed and flipped over, scanning the area. "Once a demon of a family higher in the system turns 14, they have to tackle a hell beast of their own. If they don't it's seen as dishonorable to their family, and reflects even worse on said demon." Zentari's ear twitched, searching for any sound that might be a hellbird.

"So they're like, 'congrats on turning 14, now either try not to die or bring dishonor to the family!'" Kai shook his head and sighed. "I'll never understand it!" Zentari's ears perked at the sound of twigs snapping and the unmistakable chattering sound. A hellbird was definitely near "stay here." Zentari ordered as she slowly stood, keeping herself low as she moved quietly. "You really think I'm going to stay here while you die!? I want to see it!" Kai whispered back slowly creeping up as well. Zentari sighed, his tone said there was no way she could convince him otherwise. "eres un dolor en el culo, lo sabes, ¿verdad? (you are a pain in the ass, you know that right?) Fine, but stay quiet!" Kai smirked and gave her a thumbs up. "I'll be so quiet you'll forget I'm even here!" Zentari reluctantly started forward, if Kai got caught up in the tastle and got hurt or killed, she would never forgive herself. Slowly the hell bird came into view, and it was now or never.

Zentari signaled for Kai to stay or find a tree as she crept around to the hell bird's backside. She hoped she could do this, she had the ritual markings all in the right places, she had the right outfit. Now she just had to get this right. Zentari twitched her tail as she slunk towards a tree, making sure her connection system was ready. She pulled herself to a thick branch that hung over the beast, slowly walking down it before springing herself onto its back. "¡Ajá! ¡Te entendí! (AHA! I got you!)" Zentari gripped onto its antenna bases as it reared up and made one of the most terrifying sounds she had ever heard. Before she could even think her grip loosed and she hit the ground with a jarring thud. All the air immediately escaped her lungs, as she wheezed in a breath the Hell bird was already taking off. "maldito infierno... (fucking hell...)" Zentari muttered as it disappeared into the sky.

"HOLY SON OF A BISCUIT!" Kai came parading over and helped Zentari up as her ears twitched. "Are you ok!?" Kai patted her back and handed her some water out of their baggage. "I'm ok, I just need to find another." She sighed in relief as she took a sip, that fall really took a lot out of her. After taking a minute to recover they set off again.
