Rae
I got dressed in one of the outfit I picked up from the dry cleaners last night, already organized what outfit each day I'll wear, hung and protected with a cover. I hung them on a black closet organizer I bought since the studio didn't come with a closet.
I got dressed in a black plain pencil skirt and a white button up blouse that had thin lines running as plaid. I paired with a pair of black pumps, keeping today simple. I placed on a black blazer to hide some of the sleeved tattoos, fixing my hair that's already wavy from last night's braids.
I did my makeup with a light layer of foundation, only covering my under eye and any spots I wanted to hide. I put some light brown eyeshadow and some mascara, tying the look up with a peach tinted lipgloss.
I made sure that I have everything in my over the shoulder black leather briefcase that was gifted by my ex boyfriend. Not like I was going to throw out a perfectly good, expensive bag just because it came from an ex.

I feel like I'm missing something, but when I checked the time, I felt rushed to get to work early, as my motto is very early is early, early is on time, and on time is late. The statement my professors have drilled into me since my first day.
I took the taxi to work, making a plan to find out the bus route towards work and back, maybe even seeing if there's any monthly passes. Like usual, I know I'll get stares in public walking to the bus, those in the bus, and on the way to the law building. But it'll save me money in the long run, and before I know it I'll be able to afford mortgage.
My taxi driver was kind enough to ignore me, as I'm not in the mood to try to make small talk on the way to work.
Thankfully there's a Starbucks shop in the building on the first floor, where I grabbed two cups of coffee, unsure of my new boss's preference. I made a mental note to ask that in interviews for future references.
After asking for directions from the receptionist, I managed to find my way to a door with a gold plate on the door that has my boss's name embedded into.
Jason D. Mildred
I took a deep breath and exhaled before knocking on the door. I heard a muffled but clear come in, to which I then opened the door. I was surprised to discover my boss looks no more than 30 years old, his black hair gelled back, and his suit that probably costs half a house tailored to fit him perfectly.
"Mr. Mildred? My name is Rae McCullin, I'm the new accountant you hired. I brought you coffee from downstairs, one's black and one's with milk, I was unsure how you like it," I said in attempt to make a first good impression.
The same unexpected shock rolls on his face when he looks up, his eyes raking me from head to toe as if to make sense of what's in front of him. He quickly composed himself and gave a curt nod.
"I'll take the one with milk thank you. I hope you don't mind black," he said.
"I actually prefer black coffee so this is great actually," it's true, I've always been the one to enjoy the bitter taste of coffee.
