reader did not die, they're just travelling. although it is implied they will never return.

a bouquet of flowers in your arms, their petals dancing gently in the wind. 

he could remember holding you in his arms, smiling over the bunch of cecilias you were holding. but how long had it been? he could barely remember the face of his lover. he could sing songs about you, think about you day and night and yet barely remember you at all.

he was a fool to think you would return. but then, he was a fool for you... (venti worthy jokes)

it was cecilia season, flowers blooming on the very cliff you and him had sat, telling tales, singing songs... 

"venti! look what i found!"

he turns, to see you fade away, your smile just visible. "y/n?" he calls out. but to no avail. he can't find you.

"what did you find?" venti leans closer to look. "a rock?" he stares at it blankly.

"noo!! it's not a rock!" you huff. "i found a gem!"

venti smiles. "it looks very nice." his smile widens. "ehe, almost as pretty as you!~"

he starts giggling when you blush. "i-i... don't play those games on me!" the blush turns into a glare. venti pretends to get scared.

"oh no! don't kill me!!" he runs away from you. 

"I'M GOING TO GET YOU IF IT'S THE LAST THING I DO!!" you smile, pretending to be angry. you chase each other for a while, but eventually flop down on the grass. he looks at you closer, your face blurring as he focused more...

but how could he forget? the one he loved most, would go to any lengths for... 

he flattens a patch of grass, to see a small gemstone. he remembers this. he wipes it clean with his fingers and looks deep into it. he can see your face, his lover's, for the first time in years... 

when the cecilias bloomed, he could remember you.
