Surprise Attack (Reid's POV)

We heard a crash, and then a flash of lights. I was frozen in place, as were Xander, Titus, and Kira. Melanie had jumped in front of the stroller, ready to defend the triplets. Then we saw a group of teenagers, kids our age, stumble out of.... A.... A space pod? It looked similar to the ones in Arkaniss's ship. Then I hear Melanie whisper, "The kids he never knew about."

After they all laid eyes on us, they went serious. There were 5 boys and 3 girls. A couple of the guys started shouting orders, and soon, a green sphere like the ones Xander makes surrounds us. A girl and a guy were both holding it, and it seemed like they weren't used to this sort of thing. The other two girls were flying, seeming ready to chase after, or kill, anything that pissed them off. It was funny, because the whole lot of them looked exactly alike. All with dark brown hair, freckles, and light colored skin.

The only obvious difference was genders. Other than that, different hairstyles and clothes were the only other thing to keep from thinking we were seeing octuples. I banged against the wall, and one of the flying girls shot a laser at me! It hurt! The other four were standing around, the three boys looking at the one closest to Melanie.

I assumed he was the leader. "Ben, Tom, are you two just going to stand there, or are you boys going to teleport us out of here?!" He shouted at the two boys on his left. "Ron, watch Max, Jade, Rose and Brooke. Got it?" He asked the boy standing on his right.

"Got it!" The boy called Ron chirped happily, and then his eyes started glowing. I realized what his power was. He could pretty make himself into a living security system, being able to see everything at once. It was actually pretty cool. I took a step back, and wrapped one arm around Melanie, and used the other to tightly grip the stroller.
