Cities are so hard for me to enjoy. I think growing up in them made me desensitized. They were dull places of gray. The buildings rose high and created uneasy shadows and tight spaces that too many people squeeze into. They're dreary and have always made me anxious.

However, when I'm with you I see it a bit differently. The slate buildings and blank sidewalks bring out the vibrancy of the sky. The harsh edges of the concrete jungle soften and blur. My focus is no longer on the crowds or the shadows; but you, and the blinding energy you have around you.

You, my dearest love, light up the city.
