𝑌/𝑁 𝐵𝐸𝑅𝐾𝑆𝐻𝐼𝐸𝑅I wince from the pain of the solution pouring into my open wound. "You still haven't told me why you have this cut in the first place." Enzo spoke. "Just patch the damn thing." I responded leaning my head back in pain. "I would've just done it myself if you hadn't found me." He reached for the roll of bandage, putting cloth over my wound before wrapping it. I watch as the cotton white cloth slowly turns crimson red. "I think you should rest. You've been way to involved with this task, it's best to ease your mind."
"Since when do you know anything about 'Easing your mind'." Silence goes by. "I'm sorry. This task is making me sleepless. I should probably take your advice." He nods. He cuts the extra pieces of bandage. "That should be good. Now go on, I've got somewhere to be." I give him a look of disapproval. "Don't tell mother." He runs off out the back door. I roll my eyes as I pull down my gown, heading to the front door looking to pick up the mail. I open the mail slot to find a person waiting outside. I look up in the mail slot, attempting to draw out the body but the flap on top makes it quite difficult. I suddenly jump when a pair of eyes meets mine. "Y/N?". A familiar voice calls out. I open the door slowly to my relief. "Cedric! I wasn't expecting you to be here...so early.." "Yes well, I'm not here for what you may think I am." A long pause. I look at him waiting for his to continue. "Ah yes. Uhm well I was wondering if you'd like to take a stroll around the town. Maybe do some shopping?" He lightly suggested with a promising face. I wasn't really looking forward to making a public appearance. "Right then. Would you mind waiting for me. I must clean up before going." He gives me a happy nod._______________________________
I fiddle with the fabrics of my 'town stroll' dress, or as my mother calls it. We are currently walking in silence. He's not a very good conversationalist...nevertheless I enjoy his company. He stared at his own shoes then moves on to mine until we meet each other's eyes. He clears his throat to start back the conversation but I respond first, avoiding his tasteless topic starters. No offense. "I haven't got an answer for you just yet if that's what you were going to say." He stares again with those eyes. His eyes. "Not at all." He responds rather calmly in comparison with his nervousness tone. He then offers his arm as we walk some more. I smile to myself softly then quickly wipe it away. We then stop suddenly and he faces me, hand in hand. I look down confused at our hands intertwined. "Do you trust me?"
"I'm sorry?"
"I said do you trust me?"
Without another word, not even an answer, he takes my hand tighter and runs to a market. "Where are we going?" I shout as he continues to run with me in hand, trying to keep up. We stop at a flower shop and he twirls me around to face him. He picks up a single, white calla lily. He picks up my hand and plants a kiss as he hands me the flower. We both smile. "Hey! Royals aren't an excuse for free flowers!" The shop owner shouts at us. I'm twirled back around and his hands are on my waist, pushing me forward. He make a run for it and look back to the owner shaking his fists. He guides me around the town, running and cutting through all the crowds. We come to a stop to catch our breath. We breathe heavily, both hands on our knees in a dark ally made of red bricks. "I didn't know you had that in you." I spoke to him. "You've yet to get to know me." We pause then break out in laughter. "You aren't afraid of your reputation being played with?"
"For you, not at all."
We look into each other's eyes longingly until I look at the environment. Red bricks?
Red bricks.
I soon come to the realization that we are no longer in our town. We've crossed territory's with the Riddles. My heart drops and eyes turn to a panic. "What's the matter?" He asks. "We need to get out of here now." I run out of the ally searching for white bricks instead for red. All I see is red. "We've ran to far haven't we..." "We just have to go back from where we came from." We walk out of the ally searching for any sign or any opening of light! The place is horribly dark and I can't see very well.
The roads are empty and there are nothing but sketchy merchants. "Do you know where we are going Y/N?" His response is rather ignorant and aggravating at the moment. "No Cedric, it seems that we aren't in my kingdom anymore." I respond with a passive aggressive tone. We come to a stop when a castle guard approached us. "Thank Merlin. Please we are trying to find..." Cedric speaks out. The guard walks up on a dark horse with sliver plates on his chest. "You are off your own kingdoms ground. I will have to take you to the king as protocol of the lands." He commands in a monotone voice. "You won't be taking me anywhere." I state. I refer to myself alone because I do not take any responsibility for the 'man' in the situation. He hops off his steed and walks up with handcuffs and long sword. I quickly pull out my daggers pointed arrows and load them into my bow, backing away with Cedric behind me. With each step back, the guard come forward. "Dismissed." A low tone approaches. "But sir-""I said. Dismissed."
The guard backs off and returns to his horse. I slowly put my bow down, looking at who saved us from a terrible ending.
Riddle.
