It was the first day of school for Kate and she had no friends because she had just moved there and she didn't now anybody. She wondered how it would be to experience meeting new people and new teachers because she had been in the same school district for her entire life until now. Her mother and father had divorced and she went to live with her mother in New York City while her father stayed in New Jersey. Kate had always favored her mom more than her dad. So, she was happy when she had the choice to choose who she lived with. Although, she felt a piece of her was missing without her dad. She had liked it better when the family was all together. She was devastated when she found out about the divorce. Kate is now 15 and the divorce happened when she was 10.

She walked into the school on the first day. She had no clue where she was going or who anyone was. One person caught her eye. He was about 5 ft. 9 in. tall and he had short brown hair that barely covered his forehead. He wore black skinny jeans with and Asking Alexandria t-shirt. On top of that he wore an A Day To Remember sweater and dark blue converse. She never developed a crush on him but she new that she had to meet him.

Kate had, as she planned, gotten lost while trying to find her way to her 1st period class. She saw the boy walking and she asked him for directions to room 210. He smiled sweetly and said, "just follow me. I'll show you." She followed silently until he broke the silence.
"So, what's your name, new girl?"
"Kate. What's yours?"
"Chris."
"I like your name."
"Thanks," he smiled. She smiled back.
"Welp, here we are, madam. Room 210."
"Thank you," she said, ever so sweetly.
"No problem," he winked.

She walked into the classroom and realized she was a little late. Everyone was staring at her and she felt so nervous. She looked around for an empty seat. She felt like everyone was staring at her.

"Miss Kate, why are you late to class?" the teacher asked.
"I'm sorry, I got lost, I'm new here." Kate replied, uneasily.
"yes, I'm aware that you're new. Just take a seat." The teacher pointed to an empty desk in the back of the room.
