Ten years later.

"Wake up, baby." you murmur, trailing your fingers up and down Steve's naked chest. His body has gotten a bit softer with time, the hair on his still firm pecs peppered with grey, but it only makes him look more handsome. "C'mon, it's your special day. I wanna give you a birthday gift."

Steve grunts, rolling his body halfway on top of yours and hiding his face in your neck. "Don't remind me."

"Aw, bear, don't act so grumpy." you chuckle, running your fingers through his unruly hair. You've managed to convince him to grow it our a little, because he just looks so handsome like this. "It's not every day you turn fifty."

"I'm old." he groans, rolling onto his back again, "You're still so young and beautiful and I'm an old fucker."

You roll your eyes with a soft smile. Your pregnancies haven't been kind to your body, leaving stretch marks and loose skin behind, and it had taken a while for you to get used to the changes you saw in the mirror. Still, Steve assured you that you looked just as irresistible as you did ten years ago, if not more. It's not easy to maintain your regular sexual schedule after having kids, but you've both managed to never leave each other high and dry, which is exactly why you straddle him and purr, "Don't badmouth my handsome husband ever again. He's a silver fox, and you have no idea how much it gets me going. Want me to demonstrate before the kids wake up?"

He looks up at you, bottom lip pulled in between his teeth and dark eyes. "We don't have much time."

"I can be quick." you kiss the grey spot in his beard, just under his chin, slowly making your way downwards as his hands slip under your nightgown.

Your teeth are scraping over his nipple when you hear the telltale sound of little feet pattering up the stairs, just loud enough to be heard over Steve's groan. In the blink of an eye, you're back to laying on your side of the bed.

"Little cockblockers." he grunts, throwing his head back on the pillow, "They better not be asking for a little sibling anytime soon, or I'll tell them-"

"Happy birthday, daddy!" a chorus of high pitched voices erupts in the bedroom as the door slams open, and you smile like an idiot.

"C'mon, kiddos." Steve sits up, spreading his arms wide, "Give your old man some birthday cuddles!"

Sarah is the first one that manages to climb on the bed, unsurprisingly. She's got everything from her dad: her nose, her eyes, her rowdy personality. She's the best seven year old her lacrosse coach has ever seen, his words, and she's fast as a whip.

Then comes Nicholas, who climbs right in between the two of you, because it may be his dad's birthday, but he's a momma's boy at heart. You were right, of course, when you said your first kid would be a boy. He even looks just like you, but he's got Steve's build and smarts. He's about to start fifth grade, but he's already reading at eight grade level.

Charlotte helps Theo up before climbing in herself, the little sweetheart she is. The two of them both have a mix of their parents' features: your hair, Steve's smile and little button noses. You can't exactly predict who they'll look more, they're still too young to tell, since Charlotte will only turn five in October and Theo is only two. What you can tell for sure is that she's got your caring personality and has effectively adopted Theo, who has a quite personality and is a little on the small side, so he needs help to keep his older siblings' pace.

They're all so unique, so precious in their own ways. Even through all the fights over food and toys, the tantrums and the messes, helping and watching them bloom into their own little selves is the most rewarding experience you could ever imagine.
