i went down to the docks to see if you'd be there, waiting for me like you always do
you weren't there yesterday, you aren't here today, and you won't be here tomorrow

i went down to the docks to see if i had a chance of seeing you, i did not
i sit here, waiting, praying that you will show up, but you don't.

i went down to the docks to hear to the water crash, knowing that it remembers the laughs that we shared here, do you remember it too?

i went down to the docks to look out at the stars, laying where we did when i was explaining the solar system to you

i went down to the docks to listen to the music that made me think of you, looking out on the water that knows we were once one

i went down to the docks so i could relive the beautiful night when we kissed underneath the fireworks

i'm at the docks, looking for you, hearing the water crash, remembering our laughs, looking at the sky with the stars in mind, listening to the songs that remind me of you,  reliving our night and now, writing this poem, all for you.

the sky is no longer bright and beautiful like it was when i was with you, it's now dark, and full of a terrible obsession. i keep hoping you'll run after me in this stormy night but you don't, you leave.
you always leave.
