Chapter 28

You lit the last candle quietly as you heard the front door of Kylo's apartment open. Over the past week, you had devised a plan with the help of Troy to surprise Kylo. You were going to make sure you were the first person he saw when came back. So, with the help of Hux, you got the spare keys to his apartment. You wore a short, white lace slip dress which he had bought you during his trip, and lit up around fifty candles in his room as you switched the light off.

You quickly sat down on the bed as you heard the sound of his suitcase and footsteps approaching you. "Shit," you whispered as your phone suddenly began to ring. You forgot to keep it on silent. Stretching your hand to the bedside table, you tried to turn it off, but it wasn't working. His footsteps stopped as he heard your ringtone and you desperately took the phone into your hand, only to see his name appear on the screen. You smiled as you answered the call.

"Where the fuck are you?" Kylo said and you heard him begin to walk faster towards you.

"What do you mean?" You said and giggled as he entered the room.

He swiftly shoved his phone into his pocket as he hung up and ran towards you. You squealed as he leapt onto the bed, tackling you gently in the process. You wrapped your arm around his neck as you cupped his cheek. "You know, for an old man, you sure have a lot of stamina."

He let out a soft chuckle. "You look–" His eyes scanned your body as he finally breathed out, "fuck."

"I missed you," you said, leaning up to kiss his cheek.

"You did all of this?" He said, looking around the room.

"With a little help." You smiled. "You wanted me to be the first person you saw."

"You're incredible," he said as he picked you up and pulled you onto his lap as he sat down on the bed so you were straddling him.

"You always look so nice," you said as you combed your fingers through his hair. "Even after seven hours of travelling." You wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him into a tight embrace.

He pulled you closer as his arms made their way around your waist, making you arch your back. "You have no idea how much I've missed you."

You hummed as you sighed out of comfort into the crook of his neck. His hands began to slide down slowly against your back, but you quickly lifted them up. "Wait. I said I would hug you for ten minutes."

He chuckled. "If I'd known you'd get this clingy I would've forced you to come with me."

"I should've come," you said, leaning your head back to look at him as you brushed your thumb against his temple. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay. You had your own things to do."

You leaned in as you smiled, planting a kiss on his lips slowly before pulling away to look into his eyes. "Are you ready for your present?" You steadily helped him take his jacket off.

"I thought I was getting you a present," he said, brushing a strand of hair away from your face.

You leaned over him and picked up his jacket, proceeding to wrap it around yourself as you stood up, holding out your hand and saying, "come on."

"Where are we going?"

"The roof," you said, holding his hand and trying your hardest to pull him off the bed. You always seemed to forget how big he was.

"Are you going to be warm like that?"

"Well, yes," you said teasingly. "I've got Mr Ren's massive jacket on." You pulled the fabric of the garment up to your nose as you sniffed it. "Mm. Smells just like him too."
