Anywhere you are, I am near
Anywhere you go, I'll be there
Anytime you whisper my name, you'll see
How every single promise I'll keep
'Cause what kind of girl would I be
If I was to leave when you need me mostWhat are words
If you really don't mean them
When you say them
What are words
If they're only for good times
Then they don't
When it's love
Yeah, you say them out loud those words
They never go away
They live on, even when we're goneAnd I know an angel was sent, just for me
And I know I'm meant, to be where I am
And I'm gonna be
Standing right beside her tonight
And I'm gonna be by your side
I would never leave when she needs me mostWhat are words
If you really don't mean them
When you say them
What are words
If they're only for good times
Then they don't
When it's love
Yeah, you say them out loud
Those words, they never go away
They live on, even when we're gone...The melodic voice echoes through the dark, cold hallway, serenading the occupants of the death row cells of Hwangya's Prison For Women. Today will be her final day, her judgement will be delivered at the break of dawn. She has no regret for what she had done, for it was needed to be done.
The flaw of human's law. The concept of an eye for an eye did not apply anymore, not in this age and era. She lost everything; taken forcefully yet when she retaliated, those in the seats of power condemned her to death sentence. The discrepancy and the dark truth about the reality of the world. Money talks, rights revoked.
It is always as easy as that.
"Don't stop." Gahyeon suddenly speaks from outside of Yeji's cell, lighting her cigarette.
Even for Gahyeon, the case seemed a little off, something or someone is pulling some strings to mark Yeji as the criminal despite the all the evidences showing her actions were self defence. Three years Gahyeon fought tooth and nail to defend Yeji, but whoever she was against with was proven to be much more powerful and influential.
And just like that, the battle is lost and Yeji is about to be hanged at exactly 6.15 am today.
"Gahyeon?" Yeji is surprised to hear her voice from the other side of the door, lifting herself up from the cold floor, walking close to the cell's door.
"Heard you rejected your last meal." Gahyeon begins the final conversation between them.
"Yes. Easier for them to handle my body later on." Yeji casually replies.
"Chris Medina's What Are Words, right?" Gahyeon blows the smokes, letting it floats lazily towards the ceiling.
"Yes.... She... She loved that song..." Tears starting to fall to the floor, Yeji resting her head on the steel door.
"It's funny... An android having feelings... Human falling in love with android...." Gahyeon chuckles.
"It's shocking, isn't it?" Yeji sniffs, wiping her tears with her sleeves.
"Whatever is created with a human image will be treated like human too in the end of the day. I think I can understand your circumstances." Gahyeon sighs, staring at the light above her head.
"I'm sorry, Gahyeon ah. You fought for me, yet-" Yeji is about to apologize but Gahyeon cuts her off before she gets to it.
"Nah. No apology. I should be the one who be doing that instead. I should've been more ferocious in defending you. Now, I'm really starting to think if this badge carries any meaning to protect..." Gahyeon takes out her police badge, staring at it. Somehow, Yeji gave a soft laughter from the other side upon hearing it.
