"Are we almost there yet?" Mike asked when we were finally almost there.
"Yes," I said annoyed.
"Could you PLEASE stop asking that?" Jessica yelled.
"Seriously Mike. You'll know when we're almost there," Kim said.
"They do have a point Mike. You've had to have asked me that like twenty times," I told him. "And girls. Leave him alone. He's just excited."
"Sorry Daphne," they all say.
"It's all good guys," I tell them seriously knowing something like this was going to go down. I did feel bad for Nora though since she was pregnent and got the craziest Baker.
All of a sudden, we passed the lake as we all watched in amusement Jessica and Kim telling me the directions.
"When was the last time we were even here?" Mike asked.
"It had to have been three-four years ago," I told him.
"Do you guys think the Murtaugh's will be here?" Jessica asked reminding all of us about dad's rival Jimmy Murtaugh.
"Oh, I'm sure they will. They're practically here every summer," I remind my siblings.
"Do you think this will be the summer that Sarah finally admits her feelings for Elliot?" Kim asked.
"She doesn't have feelings for him," I lied trying to cover up my sister's secret.
"Maybe she doesn't but Daphne. You one-hundred percent had feelings for Danial," Jessica said.
"Okay fine. Maybe I did but those feelings are long over now," I tell the girls. "This summer isn't about me and Danial. This may be our last time we'll ever get to do this with Nora pregnent and me, Charlie, and Lorraine starting a new year of college."
"Sure," Kim said.
"And Sarah definitely did have feelings for Elliot," Jessica reminded me.
God.....
Sometimes I wish the twins weren't such geniuses.
Trust me.
I love them to death but it can get pretty annoying that they're constantly trying to prove you wrong.
I stopped the car as Gunner started to cry reconizing this place. I pet him carefully as Mike opened the passenger door and grabbed his leash at the same time that I opened my driver side door. The family was already there and staring at the house when we got there.
"This place turned out to be a dump," Sarah told us.
"Yeah. It didn't look this bad the last time we were here," Mark agrees.
"Come on guys! It's not that bad. It's just......different," I said.
Mark looked across the water at the nicer place.
"Why couldn't we have rented that place?" he asked.
We all stare at it before dad responds.
"It's......most likely new or remodeled," he said.
I had a gut feeling that had to be Jimmy Murtaugh's place but I didn't mention anything in front of dad.
"It may look like fun but we can still have that much fun," I tell my siblings. "This place is just......older."
"Exactully our point," Jake complains.
"They may have a waterslide but we have stairs. Stairs are.....fun," mom says trying to make everyone feel better but she failed miserably.
