"Phone, keys, wallet. I think I got everything important."

You were at the airport waiting for your flight. You had double-checked your stuff multiple times now, anxious you'd forget something.

"Don't worry, if you forgot anything, it'll be at my place" Connie had tried to reassure you that everything will be okay for the past thirty minutes, but the anxiety didn't seem to fade.

"I know, but the feeling won't go away." In all honesty, you were scared to leave. You and Connie hadn't been together for too long, and the feeling that something could happen while you were gone overtook your mind. You trusted Connie a lot, but nonetheless, you couldn't stop thinking that maybe this would drive you apart.

"Honestly, I'm afraid of what'll happen with us," you confessed, fiddleling with your hands.

"We are going to be fine. I'll facetime you every day. I'll text you right when I wake up and before I go to sleep, and the two weeks will pass like no time at all. Trust me, you and I are going to be fine. "

He put his arm around your shoulder, planting a kiss on your forehead.

"I should head to the security check. My flight leaves soon," you said, looking at your phone.
Connie just nodded quietly, realizing that you were really going to be going away for a while now.

The flight went by quickly, your younger brother picked you up from the airport. The two of you talked about your newest obsessions, his being greek gods, which was totally your fault after recommending Percy Jackson to him. When you arrived home, you made your way into your old bedroom.

connie🐸
you:

connie🐸:

connie🐸:

I'll call you later, I need to bring my bike to the shop

Just as the two of you finished texting, you heard a car honking outside. You were wondering who it was since your mom was home and your dad wasn't coming home for another few hours. You got up from your bed and walked into your brothers room since his windows faced towards the driveway. Looking outside, you saw a familiar grey sedan and a familiar face that lit up as soon as they saw you looking out the window.
In an instant, you rushed to your room to put shoes on before you ran outside.

"Pieck! What are you doing here?" You were surprised by her visit, to say the least.

"Visiting my best friend that has not been home for the past year," she hugged you tightly.

"I would've visited during christmas break, but I was too focused on studying."

"I've noticed. It's not like you have always been like that." Pieck had a talent for calling you out on your unhealthy habits, one being your need to always be on top.

"Yeah, whatever. How have you been?"

"Oh, it's been really great being back here the past year. I've gotten closer to some people again. Work has been great as well."

You noticed that she blushed a bit when mentioned getting closer to some people and knowing Piecks dating history, you knew exactly who she was talking about.

"Don't tell me you got back together with Porco," you said, your face showing a hint of disappointment.

"What if I did?" she asked, her eyebrows furrowed."It's not like he's a bad guy. We were just not good for each other back then, but we've both grown since then,"
