Amelia observed the Cullen family across the snow-covered field, the wolves spread out among the family and witnesses. She spotted the two children in question, one a bronze-haired little girl with Bella's eyes and nose, and the other was another little girl. Much smaller, with green eyes like Amelia's and blonde hair, she shivered under her thin clothes obviously not enough to keep her from the cold. The little girl with hair like Edward was Renesmee, she stood with a newborn Bella, Jake, and Edward. The blonde little girl stood a few feet away near Rosalie and Emmett.
"Now you know, that's your future. Unless you decide a different course," the look on Aro's face was pure terror, what Alice showed him Amelia didn't know but she knew it was bad.
"We still do not know if this child is a liability," Caius all but shouted to the raven-haired king. Aro was at a loss for what to do. He turned to the blonde female standing next to him. Amelia glanced around between each Cullen member and then each child. Amelia doubted that these children were of any harm, they weren't even full vampires.
"I have an idea," Amelia spoke up sending a wicked grin to Alice, "Caius is right, we don't know what will happen with these hybrids. I doubt they will be of any threat to the vampire world but, we still don't know how they will develop. Bring both girls forward," Bella immediately went into a snarl,
"You've already met Renesmee, you don't need to be near her anymore!" Amelia's hand raised causing Bella's head to lift up at the sky, gasps coming as if she were choking. Amelia's hand slowly started to close into a fist, cracks appearing along Bella's neck and up her chin,
"I said, bring the girls here." She released her hand and watched as Bella hunched over and gasped for an unneeded breath. Edward placed a hand on the girl's shoulder and gestured for the blonde girl to follow. Amelia watched as she stumbled through the snow, her shoes were too big for her feet. When Edward and the two children stood in front of them Amelia gave a genuinely sweet smile to the girls. She crouched down and spoke softly,
"Earlier, I didn't get to properly meet you both. I'm Amelia, I'm your aunt," Renesmee quickly spoke up,
"Mommy and Daddy say that you're a bad person." Amelia just let out a little chuckle,
"I'm not a bad person, I'm simply not letting your mommy and daddy break the rules and cause trouble. But it seems that no matter how much we try," she gestured to the three kings behind her, "Mommy and Daddy don't listen," Amelia let her last words come out in a hiss, glaring up at Edward who shifted uncomfortably. Amelia blinked away the evil in her eyes and looked at the blonde girl,
"What's your name sweetie?" the little girl shivered in her spot,
"A-Annie, that's what uncle Emmett kept calling me," Amelia blinked,
"You mean your parents didn't name you?" Annie shook her head, her blonde curls bouncing around her shoulders. "Sweetie, you must be freezing." Amelia opened her cloak up inviting her in, Annie didn't hesitate to leap into Amelia's arms and curl up in the warmth. Moving her hair aside Amelia saw a bruise in the shape of a hand on her shoulder. Amelia stood and turned towards Aro,
"Annie, this is my brother Aro. Can you hold out your hand to him," Aro grabbed ahold of Annie's small hand as she gingerly reached out to him. Aro's eyes widened as he searched her memories.
The bruise on her shoulder came from Renesmee knocking over a glass and blaming it on Annie, when Annie denied the accusations Bella grabbed ahold of her shoulder to drag her to time out. Unable to control her newborn strength she not only left a bruise but a hairline fracture on her collarbone. Amelia didn't need to be a mind reader to know that Annie was not being cared for properly. She suspected it the moment she saw the small child shivering in the cold.
"Annie will be staying with the Volturi from now on," Amelia didn't turn to face the vegetarian coven, she nodded to Marcus who understood. He held out his hands to take Annie from Amelia, settling her in his arms and securing his cloak around her.
"You can't just take my daughter!" Bella shouted. Bella with newborn speed made a lunge for Amelia. Amelia threw her arms down, tree limbs breaking through the frozen ground wrapped themselves around Bella. The vampire screamed and thrashed, desperate to break free from the holds that now secured her to the ground. She was on her knees in the middle of the field,
"Can't I?" Amelia asked Bella. Edward moved to lunge at Amelia who simply held her hand up, "Unless you want Renesmee to become an orphan, I suggest you stay put." Edward seethed at the blonde witch but remained in his place. He held more love for Renesmee than he did any being on the planet, he wouldn't jeopardize her safety. Looking directly into Bella's eyes Amelia spoke with such power,
"You have broken so many laws, we've given you more than enough chances. To top it off you've been neglectful to one of your daughters. Do you know how many vampires would kill to have a child of their own? You get not only one child but two, and you mistreat her?!" The ground shook as Amelia shouted. "You were my sister Bella, I loved you. But I told you, I don't give second chances." A lower guard in a grey cloak walked up beside Amelia, a box in his hand. When Amelia opened it, Bella's black beating heart lay in it. "Isabella Cullen," Amelia held the heart in her hands and approached the bound vampire, not a sound was heard across the snow-covered field as Amelia spoke her next words,
"I hereby sentence you to execution, for the neglect and abuse of a child, for treason against the vampire race, for just simply being a bitch," Amelia smirked at her. Bella screamed, thrashing violently. Amelia began to crush the black heart turning it into dust, Bella screaming in pain.
"Edward, please, HELP ME!" Bella truly became a pathetic sight, Amelia just chuckled.
"Edward won't help you. You were not even his true mate, you were simply la tua cantante. Blood singer, and not that you don't have blood running through your veins, he has no reason to be with you anymore." Bella screamed as Amelia spoke. The place in Bella's chest where her heart once was began to turn to cracks and dust. When Amelia let the last of the heart crumble in her hand she tossed the dust into the pile of Bella's ashes. The field was completely silent, each vampire was too stunned to speak. With a wave of her hand, Amelia set fire to the ashes before speaking,
"Let this be a lesson," her voice echoed across the field, chills running down the spines of the vampires and wolves alike from the power in her voice, "that the Volturi will no longer take any sort of treason, or broken laws lightly. You can thank the Olympic Coven for that, as they were the ones who took the graciousness that we once gave them for the many times their coven has broken the law and threatened the safety of the vampire race lightly, and betrayed the trust of the Volturi. Carlisle," the blonde patriarch stood straight and met Amelia's eyes, "Get your coven under control. If you, Edward, or whoever steps out of line in the slightest, you all will be executed. You are very very lucky that I didn't have you all executed for the crimes of Bella and Edward." She broke contact with Carlisle and made contact with Edward, "Annie is coming with me." Edward simply nodded and pulled Renesmee close to him.
Amelia turned to her mate who held such love in his eyes as he looked between Annie and Amelia. Amelia nodded once to Aro and the coven slowly began to dissipate into the trees. With one final look at the witnesses and Cullens, Amelia joined Marcus at the tree line before disappearing from their sight.
