I got in for my late shift today. It was a Friday night so I just know it's going to be busy, but I don't mind that as it's always entertaining to watch the drunk men act like children and the women to dance and stumble around. I pulled a few pints for a group of men I could only assume were here to pull as they wouldn't stop pointing out the women's asses to each other.

She looks up and "the strongest thing you've got" she says and I nod and turn around and get a glass. I give her our strongest vodka "Coke or tonic?" I ask her
"Coke please" I smile and nod. I put in the coke and give it to her "there you go" I smile at her. She nods and mumbles a "thanks" I watch her drink it quickly and then look back at Patrick. He was frowning whilst looking at the woman. This made me frown slightly as I didn't know what he was thinking.
I served the group of men again and made a tray of shots. I gave them to one of them and he winked at me. I turned around and rolled my eyes. I look back at the woman and she had gotten through another two glasses and she looked like she was wiping her eyes. I went over to her and leant across the bar. "Hey, are you okay? Can I get you anything?" I ask smiling at her sweetly. Her face tilts up so I guess she is looking at me. She shakes her head "can I get another drink?" She asks and I smile and nod "yes of course" I get her the same and put it in front of her. She smiles a little "thank you"

After an hour my shift finished. I was tired so I decided to stay and get a couple of drinks. I sat next to the woman as it was the only seat empty. Patrick gets me a drink "get me a vodka and coke as well please" I ask him and he does. He gives it to me and then I put it in front of the woman. "Don't worry I'm not trying to sleep with you" I chuckle and She looks up at me "You didn't need to, thank you" she finally takes her sunglasses off and her eyes were red and a little puffy. She looked so familiar but I couldn't pinpoint where I had seen her. I just smiled at her and sipped her drink.

The woman looked at me "thank you" she said softly. I looked at her and frowned slightly "whatever for?" I ask and turn all my attention to her. She smiled a little more now and shook her head "nothing, just thank you for not making a fuss over me" she said. I figured she didn't want to fussed over because she was crying and kept ordering drinks. "Oh it's fine, I know what it's like to just want to be alone in my thoughts. Don't worry" I smiled at her. I saw her eyebrows knit together but I chose to ignore it. "At least let me get you a drink" she smiled and I nodded.

An hour later we were both intoxicated and only focused on each other. Even though she was more drunk than me I now couldn't tell the difference between my first and current drink. Patrick ended his shift and hugged me. I hugged him and kissed his lips "bye bye" I smiled and he walked off. I looked back at the woman and smiled. Her smile faded a little and soon she was tearing up. I put my hand on her knee "hey! What's wrong? Don't cry" I say and squeeze her knee. She shakes her head "my bastard husband cheated on me" she said and I gasped "what?! But you're so hot!" I said and smiled at her she looked at me and shook her head "you're just drunk" she says. "No- well yes maybe a little but I'm not blind! You're the hottest woman In this room" I say and smile at her. She blushes a little and I chuckle. "Thank you, really but I'm old" she says quietly. I shake my head "no you're not, you look youthful and full of fun. Even through those puffy eyes" I say and she looks at me.

I got into my bed and she went to change in the bathroom.

After a few minutes she walked out. "Where can I sleep?" She asked. I chuckled and opened the covers for her to come in. "Here silly" I say and she smiled lightly and gets in the bed. I wrap my arms around her and fall sleep.
