But, people aren't always happy with who their soulmate is, and try to fight the faith by getting themselves in relationship with other people or simply cutting the string.
Cutting the string may come off as selfish, since by getting what they want, they leave other person without a significant other.
The string is only one, so if one of the two people paired together by the highest forces will cut it in half, they'll be forced to be alone till the end of their days.
Most of the time though, the two try their hardest to find each other and start a new chapter of their lives together.

"Ah, (Y/N)" she brushed hair away from her daughter's face "You will need to wait till your sixteen"
"But, momma, why can't I get it now? It would be nice to get the string for my seventh birthday" she whined putting her small head in the crook of her mother's neck.
"That's just how it is, Cutie pie"
"Mommy, how was it with you and daddy?" (Y/n) sat up and smiled at her parent, as she just sighed.
"Oh baby, we just got our strings and fell in love as soon as we find each other" she smiled.
the whole story her mother told her that day of how beautiful love is.
The whole soulmate thing was bullshit. The string had no meaning to her. Where did this come from, you may ask.
Well, (y/n)'s mother left not so long after telling her daughter this whole thing. She fought with her father just to reveal her little affair with some guy from the country she visited couple times in last five years. Turns out they even had children.
Her mother left her real soulmate to be with some man that lost his. And the day she left her father was also the day (y/n) saw her for the last time.
That was the day (y/n) promised herself that she'll never ever look for her soulmate or fall in love.
But, will she stay truth to herself?

Hello! I'm really sorry that prologue is so short, but I actually had no idea what else to add here.
I'll try my best to make the first chapter interesting and longer.
