night shift. it was pouring outside and aisha had just donated a her blood. she was keeping alex company when he was being prepped when she saw two mercy westerns.
"don't even ask for help" they overheard jackson say. "these seattle grace people are kinda douchey."
charles advised him to lower his voice when aisha and alex glanced in their direction.
"us? douchey?" she told alex. "if anything they're the ones screwing everything up. first they take george's cubby, then izzie decides to help them and they turn on her- and they run around like lunatics not even caring about what direction they're going in."
"are u still upset over the coffee thing?" alex chuckled.
"no but i need reasons to rank them higher on the douche list. come on, it was my favorite sweater."
"no it wasn't."
"it was number 3 on my list."
"is it just me or are they glaring at us?" jackson asked charles.
"i mean karev hates me because i worked with stevens the day she was let go. i don't know about khanna. did she really win the harper avery? i thought that was a fellow?"
"yeah i read about it" jackson replied. "she's probably still mad at me for spilling coffee all over her."
"did you apologize?"
"kinda. i don't think she thought it was sincere though- i was more focused on her identity. she looked familiar."
"familiar?" he asked. "oh god please tell me you didn't sleep with her- is that why they're all against us? you-"
"no!" he whisper screamed. "shut up- shes right there."
"i don't think she really cares about the coffee. she knows she's prioritized for the hospital so she's probably trying to support her friends. i bet she told stevens to spill coffee on my shoes though."
jackson chuckled, "probably."
"massive trauma incoming" aisha quickly stood up. "karev, mercy westers: e.r."
—
fast forward to all the surgical staff assigned to the e.r. sitting outside a conference room far after midnight. it was silent. none of them would have thought that they'd lose a patient to an accident. a missed step. something went wrong for a grand interrogation conducted by richard webber and members of the hospital board.
the silence broke when reed commented, "someone's getting fired." april tried to shut her up, she was too anxious to deal with the comments and the questioning,
"she wasn't even my patient" charles said.
"i didn't even see her" aisha added.
"how long is this gonna take?" alex groaned.
"why, you need to make a phone call?" jackson snickered.
it didn't take long after that remark for karev to get out of his seat and start a fight. the hallway broke out in screams but aisha a moved a seat over. she wasn't one to resort to violence, but she didn't do anything to break it up this time. the residents from mercy west have been stirring up trouble from the minute they arrived. she acknowledged that seattle grace had their share, but some comments were just unnecessary. her resident class had already been through so much already and she couldn't handle defending outsiders that didn't even try to be nice without a hint of conceitedness.
