aisha was in an on call room, asleep when her pager went off. when she heard the insufferable noise she was agitated but relieved at the same time because she didn't stay overnight in the hospital for nothing. she quickly put her hair up and went to find owen.
"oh, you paged me here at 4:00 A.M. for a couple broken bones?" callie sneered.
"are you serious?" she groaned. "it's the middle of the night."
"more like 50" owen replied, opening the trauma room. there was a young girl who's legs were entirely black and blue, and there were bones popping out of her arms.
"well shit."
—
"okay when you see cristina she's gonna be mad" owen started when callie and aisha entered the pediatric ward. arizona and callie groaned. "she's gonna be mad at me for not paging her in here last night- possibly mad at you two for not waking her up either."
"owen. if this is you taking me off the case- cristina doesn't even like bones! i like bones! i love bones!"
"i'm handling it. do not provoke or engage her."
"that's your plan?" callie scoffed. "ignore the scalpel-hungry animal?"
"cal, i'm still on the case right?"
"aish, both of us were paged at 4:00 A.M. because owen knew we're the best orthopedic surgeons in the hospital. dream team."
"and we were on call" aisha added.
then cristina walked past the group, glaring at each one of them. they followed her to where arizona eventually took charge.
—
when they walked into their patient's room, a small boy was dressed up as an attending appeared.
"good morning, dr. robbins" he smiled.
"good morning, dr. wallace" she replied. "i see that you've already introduced yourself already to mr. and mrs. boyd."
cristina, charles, and jackson looked at each other in confusion and slight judgement when aisha smiled.
"dr. yang, why don't you present?" callie asked her, hoping to gain some leverage.
"excuse me.. little doctor boy" she said, slightly pushing him away. "hillary boyd, 15 years old, fell off the roof of her house. 52 acute fractures were diagnosed when she was admitted last night. an intricate and extremely challenging o.r.i.f. surgery was performed by dr. torres, dr. khanna, and dr. hunt this morning before rounds."
cristina made long eye contact with callie, aisha, and owen before she stepped aside.
"thank you, dr. yang" owen said.
"dr. khanna, would you like to go over the plan?" callie asked.
"if she fares well enough today, we'd like to go in tomorrow to repair her subtrochanteric fracture next."
—
jackson, cristina, and aisha were the residents on hillary's case. callie and owen came in and informed the parents that her tox screen showed signs of psilocybin.
"magic mushrooms."
"you're a disappointment, young lady" her father said.
