Aftera subway accident that was used as bait for New York's greatest heroes left only one survivor, Serena Sanchez came back different. In more ways than one. Not in control of who she is, or rather, who she is becoming anymore — she is left desperate, afraid, and vengeful. As the days continue, the more powerful she gets, and the more she changes. Changes from the once optimistic, bright-eyed, and rule-abiding girl she used to be, and into something that terrifies her almost as much as it brings her sickening joy.
Peter Parker wants a fresh start, and college seems like the perfect place to do that. His main goal is to keep his focus remaining on school, and only school, in order to keep his personal life as far away as possible from his web-slinging one. He knows what happened last time when he failed to do so. But when he moves down the hall from a girl in all the same classes as him, he can't help but feel as though they have something in common. Like something is inexplicably pulling them together.
Even when he's busy trying to catch a murderer leaving bodies all across the city.
Even when the girl seems to know more than she lets on.
So much for a fresh start.

» I am incredibly excited to start this MCU!Peter fic, because I have been wanting to write a fic about him for a while. This one will be dark because it's meant to be college-aged Peter, and sort of follows the events of No Way Home. That being said, this fic still isn't meant to be linked to really any specific MCU event, and may be "canon-divergent" in some areas, following its own separate plot lines and villains, and otherwise completely removed from a lot of the other MCU characters.
Also yes, since Olivia Rodrigo is the face-claim for the main character, Serena Sanchez is Filipino! I do not want to see any comments about using a different face-claim, or imagining the main character to be someone else (usually white). Comments like those will be deleted because they're rude and let's be real, racist. Obviously, she is just a face-claim, so you can picture the main character as whoever you want, I can't stop you — but that will not change the fact that Serena is Filipino and will be written as such, and have talks about her culture and race. I usually write Asian main characters for my books since I rarely see Asians (from all parts of Asia) represented in media and literature.
